Horrible service from Ross Benthien
My Dr. from this practice passed away and I was notified to see a different Foot and Ankle surgeon from the practice . What a HUGE mistake. Ross had Zero Bedside Manners, first words out of his mouth we What can I do for you. His bedside manner are awful and his personality would be rated a 0!I used Dr. Aronow for surgery on my right foot and miss him terribly!Stay away from Ross Benthien, he does not care, seems bother by having to see patients!Use another orthopedic provider. I recommend Yale!

Stay Away
Dr Benthien is a really bad Dr. He just doesn’t care. I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident. When I went to see him, he didn’t even ask what happened to me. Then asked me to “point to the one spot that hurts.” Uhh it hurts all over! He Looked at one foot and not the other. Didn’t even ask what happened. He didn’t go over all the scans and reports that I sent over and acted like I was not being honest. Then I got assertive and all of the sudden he wanted to do his job. I went to walk out of the appointment and then he became a doctor. Stay away. The guy is so rude and doesn’t care about his patients. Just look at the reviews.

Worst surgeon ever
Rude and callous . Incompetent and uncaring. Had to have multiple surgeries after this ignorant person opened me up. Don't know if he treats workers comp different than private insurance . Worst surgeon I ever had and I have had 6. Avoid for your own mental and physical well being

Can you say arrogant?!
Went to an appointment with an MRI in hand. My complaint was that there was a lump behind my ankle bone that was excruciating when I wore shoes. Without looking at my ankle, or the MRI, his response was if you lost weight, it wouldn’t be an issue. I left the office, called my GP, and requested another foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon. Made an appointment and went to the second orthopedic, who took the time to look at the MRI and my ankle, and determined that I had a tumor on the muscle behind the ankle bone that needed to be removed.

Brought my son to Dr. Benthien today to look at his ankle. This office is first class. They were very kind and extremely professional. Dr.Benthien took his time examining my son but more importantly answered all our questions. We were very happy with the time he took explaining the injury and also the recovery process. Thank you to Dr.Benthien and his entire office.

Absolutely First class and literally could NOT have been better. I wanted to leave this review because frankly I always find the only people to go out of their way to give reviews of others, are people that are cold in character, lack their own social skills, and or are usually seeking unnecessary pain pills. A Dr has to cover himself as well as take care of his/her patients. I'm just saying this because I read a couple of these negative reviews and to be completely honest, I almost opted to see a different doctor. But then I quickly remembered of what I just wrote, being that negative reviews almost always come from negative people and are unjust nor deserving. Anyways I went with my gut and I could not have been happier with my first appointment with Dr. Benthian. The whole operation, from office staff, to Lisa the receptionist; The whole visit truly was a breath of fresh air. And I am truly blessed that I saw Dr. Ross Benthien today First class Doctor. First class team

Completely unprofessional and uncaring which is not the biggest problem, because as long as your good who cares what your personality is like. But He completely ignored symptoms and treatments that his colleagues recommended. He also degraded colleagues in front of me and other medical professionals.

To start, i completely ruptured my Achilles 5.5 weeks ago and had it operated on by Dr Benthien 4 weeks ago to the day. I will also say I found Dr Benthien by a referall from my sister is a doctor at Mass General and inquired in her own orthopedic department. I knew nothing about him and found that most reviews said his bedside manner was very brusque and that he was frankly a jerk but probably a good surgeon. I ultimately decided I couldn’t care less about his bedside manner because i want

Foot and ankle specialist he very well may be. He has very little compassion, has smug condescending attitude. After months of pain, finally agreed to send me for ultrasound guided injections. They are temporary. When discussing a long term solution, he is dismissive and arrogant. Stated he has seen worse, and just come back for injections. I never felt he listened to my concerns or cared for me in the least. Staff was friendly and professional. P.A. was very helpful and answered my questions.

If I could select 0, I would. Incorrectly recommended immediate weight bearing for an injury. Six weeks later, I have nonunion of a fracture and displaced bone (was not originally displaced). If you ask him a question, he is rude and condescending. He clearly missed the day in class when they teach bedside manner. Absolutely do not recommend.

WOW.... after reading the negative responses I turned to my husband & said.."is this our Orthopedic surgeon we find very confident & skilled in his practices"? We will agree on a lesser degree on his bedside manner but if all of you want is a great personality with humor, call your docs office & ask about their personality first & then make or not make an appt. Friends, family & other doctors recommended him highly for his excellent skills & thorough diagnosis. We are extremely satisfied PT's

I recently fell down a flight a stairs. After a week, my ankle was still very swollen and bruised, and I had trouble walking and keeping up with my daily activities. The first thing out of his mouth when he walked into the room was "So, how often do you fall down stairs?" He proceeded to let me know that despite how swollen my ankle was, I obviously was lying about pain. Clearly this man sees it's a liability case and wants nothing to do with it. He spent no more than 3 minutes with me.

I was misdiagnosed by Dr Benthiens PA. I was sent for a guided cortisone shot and physical therapy. depleted my FSA in copays and never got rid of the pain. nothing more than an x ray was done. Come to find out I had torn and literally destroyed tendons and not even the tendon treated. I found a doctor who actually requested am MRI and had emergency surgery last week. Considering a malpractice suit. T

I totally agree with the other reviews. Dr. Benthein is as arrogant as they come. He has ZERO people skills. Where does he get off telling people they aren't in pain. I hope someone sues him and he goes out of business. He never even looked at all the records I sent over. No one should have to put up with this horrible Doctor. His office manager Dawn is just as bad. Marci the PA IS WONDERFUL.
