Dr. Ronald Shook, DO

Dr. Shook is awesome! My son suffered a sports injury and was treated in GR by an ER Dr. who was too busy to be bothered with treating my son properly. We went to Dr. Shook for follow-up and he was kind and caring. Due to our busy schedule it was difficult to schedule a time for us to come back to the office, but Dr. Shook took the time to arrive before the office opened, and open it for us, so we could be on the road to our next event.

Yesterday I unexpectedly found myself in Holland Hospital Urgent Care clinic for a large, painful cyst with very serious cellulitis. I have suffered from these cysts since childhood and after hundreds of rounds of antibiotics over the years my gut microbiome has been demolished. As a result, I have mostly learned to manage these episodes on my own and to avoid antibiotics altogether. But unfortunately, I lost my two most important tools in the process of our move last year; my hot tub and bathtub. I was trying to make it through this episode without antibiotics until the situation escalated and quickly went past my current pain level threshold. It was through an act of God that I was treated by a DO trained physician who quickly understood my goals. Dr, Shook willingly agreed to no antibiotics and I agreed to come back in 2-3 days for a follow-up review and removal of the gauze he packed in the wound area. He listened carefully to my needs, understood and approved of them, and worked

Arrogant. I would not ever go back to see this man. I would not even let my pets see this man. He had no interest in listening. No compassion. No business being a doctor. Does not care to treat people.

Dr. Shook was very understanding and great with each of our kids. He took the time necessary to listen to all concerns and questions while always showing patience, compassion, and good medical feedback. He also shows great support for us as parents rather than only being concerned about the physical health of our children.
