My dad went into the hospital because he didn’t feel good. We found out that his gallbladder was bad. He was in the hospital for several days when Dr. Mullis eye came in and asked how he was feeling post surgery. By that time my dad was feeling very bad and we told Dr. Mullis that he had not done the surgery yet but he didn’t believe us. It took him lifting my dad‘s gown and examining his stomach before he would believe that he had not done the surgery. So my dad had to wait again for his surgery. My dad went into surgery on Friday morning and he was in there for so long and yet the doctor never came to see us or speak to us and we sat in the waiting room worried and unsure. Several hours later we finally got a patient advocate to go find out why my dad was in recovery for so long. By the time the doctor removed my dad‘s gallbladder it was septic and my dad went into septic shock. He left recovery that day on life-support and died the following fri. Mullis never once spoke to my family

My 22 year old daughter had an emergency appendectomy this summer at Washington Regional Hospital. Dr. Mullis was the surgeon on duty, so we had no time to read any of his reviews. Over 5 weeks later Dr Mullis nurse called her to say lab results showed she has cancer and to come into the office to learn more. What a cruel way to delivery this news! We had to wait 6 tortuous hours for our appointment to hear what type of cancer, where it was located, if it was malignant, etc. We were never told they were even sending the appendix to be biopsied after the surgery, so we didn't even know we were waiting for test results. When asked why it took so long to contact us, they said they couldn't find her phone number. Ridiculous! Her cell number and her emergency contact were both listed on her hospital admissions, insurance and discharge papers. When confronted his response was "what difference does it make now". Unbelievable! They had her lab results 3 days after surgery

Mullis has a flippant attitude & treats patients with disrespect. As I was talking to him post opp he walked out the door & said in smart elic tone "ya ya I got it" pointed at me & walked out! He had been in the room only 5 min before this. He was shaking & looking crazily around the room. He acts like you are wasting his valuable time & it's beneath him to stop and listen. My nurses tried to reach him for medical questions 10x over a day with no response. Strongly urge you to seek help elsewhe

Horrible doctor. Did not talk with family after surgery. With hernia that was horribly infected tried to send home the next day & nurse suggested to patient to tell dr not send him home. Four days later patient was in horrible pain, no bowel movement, infection had spread&dr was going to send him home.Nurse on duty had to tell patient what he needed (Not the dr-he didn't take enough time when he came to check patient to notice what was going on.) Patient was on wrong antibiotic for 4 days,Quack

Dr. Mullis is just great! Awesome bedside manner and has a wonderful staff both at his office and the surgery center. Got us scheduled very fast so my daughter wouldn’t miss any days of her classes in college. Very thankful to have received such great care for my daughter. This is how healthcare should always be.

I wish I had read these reviews before having hernia surgery with Dr. Mullis. I do not believe he is qualified. From the very first meeting, I was uncomfortable with his lackadasical attitude and the lack of regard I felt he had for me. The hernia "repair" left my belly button looking terrible. It looked almost normal before surgery. Long story short, I will be going to a plastic surgeon for a second procedure to fix what he messed up. Read the other reviews here. He is not a good surgeon

He operated on my daughters cyst 20 yrs ago but had NO idea that this cyst was a Thyroglossal cysts-the most common congenital anomaly of the neck. My daughter is having the cyst removed now and the docs she is seeing can't understand why he didn't remove it instead of biopsy it (he said he would remove it). I asked for the surgery records right after the surgery and they never could produce them although they had them waiting for me at one point. Run from this doc.

Dr Mullis punctured my mother's lung when performing outpatient surgery for chemotherapy port. This delayed her cancer treatment and caused immense pain and suffering. The doctor's office never called to check on her after this nightmare much less apologize. I wouldn't let him operate on my worst enemy.

i would not ever recommend Dr. Mullis to anyone. He had no compassion nor regret when he cut into my relatives liver during a gallbladder operation. After much complication and intervention to save the life of my loved one she chose no more intervention and went to hospice where she passed 2 days later. I do not believe he was qualified to perform the surgery.
