Dropped us with no truthful explanation
My husband and I have been seeing Dr Laracuente for many years and last year we both got a letter stating that they were dropping us from his patient list, with no further explanation. We took the time to go to the office to find out if there was an issue with our insurance, which wasn't the case apparently, and his wife-assistant gave us some BS answer that the doctor was not well and was dropping patients from his list. In the meantime, my next door neighbor got her parents registered with his practice that very same week. We came to the conclusion that we got dropped after my husband complained that they made him wait over 50' when he was the first patient one morning. No truthful explanation came from them, despite their Christian background. While we liked him as a doctor, it was always a mess to get on his schedule, and they always got duplicate appointments or messed up times. His staff needs to change. I would not recommend this practice.

Incompetent Staff
The office staff is extremely rude. Impossible to get on the phone. I went to the office in person twice to make an appointment and both times told someone would call me. Never happened. I needed to get bloodwork done and the front desk personnel were so rude. Never in my 60 years have I encountered such an incompetent staff. It's a shame because if the doctor knew how his staff treated his patients they would be fired. I have moved on from this office as did my family and another friend that experienced the same treatment. If I could rate the staff lower I would.

No longer my doctor
Personally, I have always liked Dr. Laracuente & his staff, they have always been very nice to me, my problem is he constantly over books patients, or doesn't care about my time. Today, I walked out after waiting an hour and ten minutes. It happens every visit and my wife, who is also his patient, was left waiting 20-30 minutes for a tele visit.I left 5 minutes after 12, lunch time, and I saw nobody as I left except a person in the waiting room. They called about 10 minutes after I walked out, I explained this happens all of the time, if he doesn't take my time seriously, I'll find another doctor. By the time I returned to my office, I had an email saying that my patient portal with Dr. Laracuente was deleted. No apology from the doctor so no big deal, I guess. He has too many patients anyway, he can afford to lose me and my wife.

Good doctor with unhelpful staff.
The problem is not the doctor. He is very attentive and a good person, a gentleman who has allowed himself to be manipulated by people whose attitude is affecting his business. The problem is his staff who want to manage the office as if it were a Private Club. They preach Christianity but they are not humble at all, they do not value patients and they believe they are doing us a favor. It's an attitude that if you don't like it, go somewhere else. The saddest thing of all is that those who run the office are the wife, family, or friends. I was with them for almost 20 years and because I forgot to attend an appointment and did not reschedule, they stopped filling my prescription for blood pressure pills, putting my health at risk, and after three weeks they told me to find another doctor. Fortunately, the next day I had already found a very good one. Today I am pleased that my family and I will not leave another dollar to this clinic. Now I understand why they are always accepting new

Must read
Dr. Laracuente is a good physician. Period. In contrast, his support staff is by far the worst I have experienced in my life. All experiences my family, my friends, and I have had were negative. I spoke with other friends who stopped going to this good doctor, and they all tell me the reason is how they are treated by this doctor's staff. Both on the phone and face to face. Not only they are incompetent and slow, they are also extremely rude. That's a terrible combination. When you point out they made a mistake and beg for correction, they cancel you as a patient! They did that to my wife and then I found out that neither my son or I could return either! The great news is that after being cancelled, I found an even better doctor with an outstanding support staff also in Boca Raton. Ask yourself if going to this good doctor is worth the hassle and disappointment of being mistreated and ignored during every call, every visit and every interaction.

Dr Laracuente is a wonderful doctor but his office staff is a complete disaster. Instead of doing their job they constantly push the work back to the patients. And when we call back and say that they were supposed to have the right information...no apologies. Do not become a new patient. YOU will have a nightmare experience.

The office told me that my file is closed
I love Dr Laracuente. But when I called to make an appointment for my annual - a few months late admittedly, his office staff told me that my file was closed and could not be reopened, that I could not make an appointment. After about 8 or more years of being a patient, that doesn't even make sense. I am flabbergasted. I hate to give the Dr a low review, but this is an unacceptable way to treat a patient. I just don't understand it. Now I have to find a new physician and that wasn't what I had expected to do.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Laracuente for many years now and although I think he is great, his staff is horrible. My prescriptions are never called in on time. Wait times are always over an hour to see the doctor and a few times I’ve have to go to an urgent care for refills last minute because the doctor either went on vacation or the girls at the desk “forgot” to call it in and then days go by. I’ve expressed this issue to the doctor many times and nothing is done. This is the way his wife “runs this office” as she tells me. Very unprofessional.

I've been going to Dr. L. for about 4yrs. I have mixed reviews. I don't like that the doc wears open-toe shoes/flip-flops -it's unprofessional and seems unsanitary. I also think he misses a few steps that my last doc always did during a physical (like look in throat, feel neck glands, look in eyes, and ears). The office is somewhat disorganized as things are in stacked crates, and -more importantly- the office staff is hit-or-miss (lab orders never seem to get to Quest Lab 3x in a row, and my physical lab order was missing a urine sample. I had it done anyway by another doc who also sent me for tests but it should be included in a routine annual physical, right?). I am always contemplating if I should switch docs and that's not a good thing to be thinking. I like him as he is friendly and doesn't rush so I'm not saying he's a bad doctor but there's a lot of room for improvment.

I like Dr. Laracuente and I think he is a very good doctor but his office manager is awful. Good luck getting the staff to answer the phone to make an appointment; and expect to be seen much later than your scheduled appointment time.

The only doctor that consistently will spend the time with you. He may be busy but when you have his time it’s yours. Not just knowledgeable but truly cares. You never get anyone but him and don’t need to re explain the same issue 3 times to 3 diffrent PAs or associate doctors. If you do end up waiting have peace in knowing it’s because he is spending time with someone and won’t rush them as he won’t rush you.

I am not a fan of Dr's offices or visits. That being said I have been a patient of Dr. Laracuente for over 15 years. He makes me feel very comfortable and always helps me figure out what I have going on. Him and his staff are very welcoming. If I'm gonna go to a doctor, it will be him.
