Dr. Ronald Chee-Awai, MD

When I went in to meet this doctor I had a hernia and a varicocele. He assured me he could do the surgery no problem. That was 10 years ago. I left his office with a new hydrocele and a lot of pain for years, and for years I had to wear a jock strap for daily activities. His bed side manners were atrocious. Post op instructions weren't given and he blamed me for his lack of attention. He did not prescribe half of the medicines he told me beforehand that I would be getting. He refused to talk to my wife about anything that was going on. In no way would I recommend this doctor. I just had another surgery with a different doctor to correct what Chee-Awai had done. Please don't trust this man. Also he was in Louisiana before Florida but he was fired from his previous practice, as I was told by his department.

The doctor covered all possible causes of my problem. He even told me about some unusual treatment he uses in his practice. He is personable, and has a nice bedside manner.

One year ago, we were forced to confront a grief none of us should have faced so early. We mourned the sudden and unexpected loss of a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, with the sour aftertaste of your name in our mouths. You were supposed to be the expert, you were supposed to use your talents to heal; instead your bedside manner got in the way of critical treatment. You ignored reasonable and timely inquiries from the family. You refused to consider what we know now could have been life saving intervention. Instead, you reassured us despite her sepsis she would tolerate the kidney stone removal as you would give ample antibiotics. We trusted you. Fast forward, in the ICU, other healthcare providers acknowledged you should not have done the procedure because the presence of life threatening bacteria returned. After she went septic her body shut down. She endured pain and suffering but was able to die with dignity in Hospice a few days later.

Very knowledgeable and compassionate. He was very helpful to me with his explanations. I recommend him for men with prostate problems.

Seeing Dr. Ronald Chee-Awai is like being treated by a robot. As another reviewer wrote, "...he does not know how to talk to patients." I have seen Dr. Chee-Awai three times. The first time, for an initial visit, I had to wait 60 minutes to see him, with no apology or explanation from him or his staff for the long wait. When I was finally seen, he spent a rushed 15 minutes with me, charged $508 for a 45 minute session, and showed no interest in my explaining why I was there or what my concerns were. It was like being treated by a robot. The third, and most recent time that I was scheduled to see him, I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to before being ushered into an exam room by a medical assistant, again with no explanations or apologies from the staff. After waiting another 10 minutes for the doctor, a full hour hour and twenty minutes after my appointment time, I walked out. I have seen dozens of primary care physicians and specialists during my life, but I have never been treated i

Terrible bedside manners. He gets frustrated when questions are asked and does not know how to talk to patients.

I gave Dr. Chee-Awai a five star rating for the fact that he explained everything to my satisfaction and.was to the point. He explained my options then let me choose what I wanted to do. The staff was friendly and I only waited a few minutes after the paperwork was done before to starting the check up. I would recommend Dr. Chee-Awai to a friend.

Went to this dr for routine followup. Went in with no problems and left having to use a catheter for the rest of my life. Do not let this dr touch you.
