Dr. Roman Pyasta, MD

My disabled husband was looking for a new primary care doc. I called and asked if Dr Pyasta prescribes pain meds. They told me it was on a case by case basis. So I made an appt. for my husband to see him. We live about 3 hrs away. We were 5 minutes from the doctors office when the nurse called and said he would not prescribe pain meds. My husband currently see his current primary care doc every 3 months to get pain meds. He follows all the rules and regulations regarding pain meds. He also has been on them since 2004. He is disabled with many injuries. This Doctor wouldn't even give him a chance to meet him. Instead he decides he wouldn't prescribe pain meds before he meets him. To us, he violated his Hippocratic oath by denying to help my husband with his pain.He said he would send him to Pain Management. My husband went to pain management for 2-3 years. They could no longer help him and sent him on his way to a primary care doctor.

Dr. Pyasta listens well to my concerns and is never judgmental. He gives practical ideas and recommendations about how to stay healthy. He is clearly up-to-date in his knowledge of medical research. He applies that evidence-based approach in the guidance he gives to me as a patient, and he explains himself in terms that I can easily understand. I've been well-pleased with the care he's given me the last several years.

Our mother went into assisted living and he has been extremely uncooperative with the AL medical professionals in ordering medications and home care so that RN's at the AL center can properly care for her. He always wants her to come into office for another checkup before approving anything even if she was just in the office less than a month ago. Family got his direct cell number and he was miffed that family called him direct to discuss her case. He never returns calls so...
