This guy's a no show
I've booked 2 appointments with Dr. Miranda. He's cancelled twice on me and I've had to reschedule and wait months to see him. I have sleep issues and started the process of getting some help a year ago and haven't made any headway. I met with him once for all of 20 minutes where he asked me some questions. I then had to wait months to get a at home sleep apnea test which cost me $250. He just canceled again on me to talk over those results. I don't know if to blame him or NY Langone Sleep Center. Totally broken system! Don't waste your time.

Cancel Appt morning of
He cancelled my appt morning of and when I call back, because the same person who calls you to cancel doesn’t reschedule appt (makes sense) his next appt is for December (my appt was for Sept 5th, made about a month ago). Unacceptable.

See a Neurologist instead
The NYU scheduler I spoke with scheduled me with Dr. Miranda, a pulmonologist, when I explained I was having sleep issues and wanted to see a specialist. Dr. Miranda accurately diagnosed me with a sleep disorder that is neurological in nature. When I asked for an ADA accommodation letter because this somnolence disorder was impacting my work performance, Dr. Miranda told me that I probably wasn't following his instructions correctly. I did not get an accommodation letter and my work performance continued to suffer. I switched to a neurologist, who understood my concerns related to work and validated what I was feeling. Dr. Miranda is probably a good pulmonologist or good for people with sleep apnea, but not narcolepsy. Also, unless a doctor has 24/7 surveillance of me or is omniscient, I think baseless accusations or comments are inappropriate.
