Dr. Rodney Huss, MD

had him for my first pregnancy after hearing only good things from older women in my life. unfortunately i had the exact opposite experience. very rude and only wanted to do what he wanted to do. i would state preference and he would just say thats a bad decision and wouldn't really discuss it further. if i stood firm on what i wanted he agreed to do it albeit very reluctantly. many decisions were made for me against what i really wanted and i didnt know any better because it was my first pregnancy. whenever he asked me questions he would very obviously indicate he didnt believe me. and he even went so far as to tell me my only food option was chicken and salad even though i was vegetarian and asked for other suggestions to healthy meals. i felt very unsafe every visit and regret choosing this provider even so long after this has happened.

He was aggressive and rude during my visit. He raised his voice at me when discussing what pre-natal vitamins I should be taking. Neither he nor his nurse asked me permission prior to doing an invasive physical exam and pap smear. He went so far as to feel my uterus through my vagina which made me very uncomfortable. He also prescribed me an iron supplement without testing my iron levels even though high iron runs in my family. I now have a new doctor who tested my iron and let me know I should not be on an iron supplement. He did not run any blood tests pertaining to my pregnancy and only tested me for STD's without my explicit permission. His office had almost no information to share with my new doctor so we had to start from scratch at 15 weeks pregnant.

Very good experience with Dr Huss!! He is a very good professional! He was my doctor for 21 years! The I moved to Colorado!! Liliana!!

Overall negative experience, awkward, as indicated by other reviewer. Wasn't really willing to help with perimenopausal symptoms, dismissive.

Made me feel uncomfortable during my exam, also made an unprofessional comment regarding a tattoo on my stomach that rubbed me the wrong way. Overall extremely uncomfortable experience, staff was nice though.

Read an article about doulas & became curious if my OB was still practicing--we moved away & my kids are now 14 & 16. So It's been a while (!) but I felt compelled to comment b/c I had such a great experience w/him. A friend recommended him to me & I've always been SO grateful she did. Dr. Huss was thorough, no nonsense, & had a very good bedside manner. I found him to be supportive, patient, & helpful during labor & highly skilled during the delivery & afterwards. A great doctor (and staff)!

He is very kind. He doesn't dawdle, but he doesn't rush through your appointment. He genuinely cares about you and your baby. His staff are professional and keep everything moving smoothly.
