Dr. Smith is outstanding as a robotic surgeon.
My cardiologist had Dr. Smith look at me for a second opinion in 2016. I was scheduled for heat valve surgery. They had multi test run on me due to my age and told me, that he would not have to cut me open. He would be able to repair my heart valve by robotic surgery. I have been doing great ever since he did the surgery, and it has been over 8 years.

From Heart Defect to Marathons
Dr. Smith performed a repair of my rare Sinus Venosus Atrial Septal Defect in 2015. I was 25 years old. Now, at 33, I am running trail marathons and in the best shape of my life. I recently had a checkup with an adult congenital heart specialist who did a cardiac MRI and confirmed that everything is holding up very well, and I have no restrictions on activity. Than you Dr. Smith for your excellent work that is allowing me to live life without limits!

Dr. Smith performed my mitral valve repair via minimally invasive robotic surgery on Wednesday, July 31st in the morning at Baylor Scott White Heart Hospital. After two and a half days of unbelievable care from the doctor, nurses, and staff (we're talking right down to the food service people and the parking valet!), I was discharged that Friday afternoon, August 2nd - after just three days in the hospital for heart surgery! I just completed my one-month check-in with Dr. Smith's office and am recovering wonderfully from the surgery. Words do not seem adequate to express how pleased I am with the results of my surgery! My family is so thankful and feels unbelievably blessed that we found Dr Smith and his team. Don't go anywhere else - we HIGHLY recommend Dr. Smith, his team, and Baylor Scott White Heart Hospital of Plano, TX. I can't thank you all enough Dr. Smith and team for your concerned, caring, highly efficient service. You are the BEST!

I was to have surgery tomorrow morning. The office staff. Radiology, lab and hospital staff were all wonderful. Dr Smith called tonight and said that he reviewed the tests and decided that surgery wasn’t necessary at this time. He called me personally! And didn’t do surgery! If ever I need surgery in the future, he is the only one I will let do it.

We met Dr. Smith after he performed emergency surgery on my husband, for an aortic dissection. Dr. Smith explained what had happened to my husband's heart, and how he had repaired it. The surgery was lengthy, and my husband spent 21 days in the hospital. Aortic dissections are usually fatal, but Dr. Smith was able to save my husband. Words cannot express my gratitude.
