Doesn’t answer questions directly. Laughs at you when you ask questions. Arrogant. Condescending.

My boyfriend broke his hand, His official Diagnosis at OSF St Elizabeth ER was Closed Displaced fracture of neck of fifth metacarpal bone of right hand. He was referred to Debra Lynn Pyszka, PAC, at first, they couldn't get him in and said he had to call down to Peoria or a couple of other places. But we don't have a car or funds to get to those other places, so the office called back the next day and said that they could fit him in for an appointment for today at 11:30 . He went and was seen by Dr. Mitchell. The apartment did not go well at all. The medication that was prescribed will not work for my boyfriend, as he told the doctor. The Er gave had prescribed him Norco 5 and that didn't even help, and at first, Dr. Mitchell told him to come home and take Tyonlel. For a broken hand really? The only reason my boyfriend went to see him was out of convence because we don't have the funds to get to Peoria. Next time we will make that trip and get him the help that he does need.

I have end stage osteoarthritis and in desperate need of a new hip. He couldn’t face me himself to tell me my BMI was too high for him to do the surgery, nor did he or his staff inform me BEFORE the appointment that he wouldn’t see me. Instead he sent in a nurse to tell me. I will never recommend him to anyone. I will be going to Dr. Perona. I suggest everyone else do the same. He is practicing through Morris Hospital now.

Dr. Mitchell has seen myself and my son for injuries, and has operated on my daughter. Two thumbs up, five stars, highly recommend.

I am extremely disappointed in Dr. Mitchell. In the past 90 days, i have seen him for a grand total of 10 minutes. that was the day i came in for a surgical consult. i was told i needed emergency surgery the next day. that was the one and only time. Since then, all i have ever seen was his PA, of whom I am even more disappointed in. I have had nothing but pain and intense swelling for 90 days now. I call to speak with a nurse, and get the voice mail. IF and WHEN there is a call back addressing my concerns, the only answer i have ever gotten was, elevate it, ice it, and take NSAIDS. One would think that after 3 months of this continued problem, it might bear questioning as to the source of the problem. I have booked a consult with another practice to transfer my treatment mid healing.

Receive ACL reconstruction and more recently treatment for Achilles tendinitis. Very happy with both. Very professional, caring Doctor.
