Unhelpful in addressing concern
I felt that Dr. Mims was unhelpful in addressing concerns related to my ptsd related to US combat trauma from military service. He did not provide thorough answers to my questions as to how to treat my condition, which ultimately led to a misdiagnosis due to miscommunication.

Be aware of this Dr office. Not getting your prescription authorized for refills in a timely manner can really mess someone up! The receptionist and Dr are really unorganized and you basically should start begging daily for your refill authorization a month in advance. Withdrawals are not fun and a disruption to life. Not to mention if it could push someone to suicide or other psychosis. They do not care for their patients.

I have had a lot of bad expeirences with psychatrists in the past. He is the first doctor I feel at ease with and candidly I have a lot of confidence in. He has been very helpful and very merciful to me. He explains things very well and spends time to talk/learn/joke with you. He never seems annoyed or frustrated with me. Always polite and considerate. I have been very pleased with him.

Spends considerably more time than average with each client. Very knowlegable -- especially about new medications and interactions.

Cinical depression in '97. Treated successfully. Have a mutual friend who has been treated same as well. When I transferred to my current Medicare insurance coverage he was out of network. I am currently in recovery however my PCP refered specialist psychiatrist had to close his medical practice because of his medical health reason. Going to check with Dr. Mims hoping that he is now going with my provider as indicated on Healthgrade where he is practicing. I would hope I could get back.

He is the ONLY Dr that actually took the time to talk to me and not just for 5 min before handing me 4 rx and rushing me out door for next assembly line patient . He is caring honest not judgemental but tells it like it is. I respect and miss this man so much helped me. By way he only gave me 1 daily eventually another as needed because he cares for his patients and actually wants to help not numb you with pills but work with you so you are able to accept and overcome or manage.
