Dr Robert McIntyre is a very special man. His expertise and experience are of the highest order. His demeanor is humble yet he’s very reassuring in his manner. I am so thankful to have had his care and the advantage of being treated at UCH. Dr McIntyre is due great respect.

He failed to followup his patient, who then had a critical postoperative complication. His ego interfered with his ability to provide appropriate care because he admittedly doesn't believe that his surgical patients might have a complication. He could have anticipated the complication might occur if he had ordered a preop medical review for this medically fragile patient and if he had done postop labs.

Dr. McIntyre performed a parathyroidectomy and partial thyroidectomy. At my pre-surgical appt he patently answered my many questions and explained his proposed surgical approach. Between then and my surgery in response to my add'l e-mailed questions, he called on the weekend to provide more answers and re-assurance. On the day of surgery he was similarly interactive. And finally, post surgery he called with the results and was very thorough. I felt confidence in/with him throughout.

Dr. McIntyre is the best surgeon ever. He is the reason I am still here even though I had semi-aggressive thyroid cancer. Five years ago he made a fantastic effort to squeeze me into his calendar right before Christmas. My neck is clean thanks to him. Others I know with thyroid cancer have not been so lucky, and I've referred them to him. He is a true expert, and it matters.
