Dr. R. Johnston
I have been a patient of Dr. Johnston for the past 30 years. He has always treated me with kindness and respect. Any problem that I might have, he has ALWAYS sent me for the correct test or specialist. He knows every health problem I have ever had. I love that his practice can do many tests there in the doctors office, even my once a year IV.. Now, if he could just have an Xray machine, that would be great. At my last appointment, I saw his colleague Dr. B. Moore, Dr. Johnston was on vacation, so I saw Dr. B. Moore and he is a very good Doctor, in fact, he was a surgeon who reconnected my tendon & ligament that I tore in my wrist. I've never had any problems from it since. Very gifted surgeon. He did an EKG on me in the office. It was very convenient. The entire staff is great at their various jobs. When I go for my appt. I NEVER have to wait over 10 minutes. I'm always seen at my appt. time or earlier. I cannot say enough how much my Health seems to mean to them.

I appreciate Dr. Johnston's kind demeanor,, but I'm concerned with his recent lack in critical thinking skills. Despite my symptoms and a cursory review of my chart, Dr. Johnston failed to note any significant health concerns. For Pete's sake, I wouldn't have made the appointment if I wasn't truly suffering. Finally, I persuaded Dr. Johnston to order bloodwork due to one of my conditions. The bloodwork test results showed that I needed an immediate increase in one of my prescription medication. Within the week, I was much improved. I hope that Dr. Johnston improved his analytical skills based on this experience.

I went to Dr. Johnston short of breath. When my blood oxygen level was checked they told me I needed to go to a emergency room NOW. I didn't want to but he and his staff talked me into it. This most likely saved my life. I will never question him or his staff again. I had a severe case of pneumonia and a blood clot in my lung. I had to have 3 tubes put in my chest to drain the fluid so I could breath. After 2 1/2 weeks in ICU I was able to go home to recuperate. Many Thanks to him and his staff.

Problem is with the billing department of San Jacinto Medical Group of which this doctor is a member. I have medicare and a supplemental plan to cover my medical. I met my deductible with medicare on March 16, 2016 (this was confirmed with my supplemental carrier and medicare). On April 7, 2016 I had to pay $58.99 to see the doctor (more correctly the PA) because they told me that I had not met my medicare deductible? Now it's my problem to get a refund from them! Care fine, billing SUCKS!!
