Dr. Robert Honkanen, MD

Finally walked out of Dr. Honkanen’s office after waiting 3 hours , after he cancelled appointment the Friday before Labor Day. His practice is a complete disaster. Staff has no clue what medications I’m on and the doctor prescribed a variation of the same medication and was told by two other doctors that I didn’t need it. I now waiting two months to get my medical records released. Go see someone else. There are plenty of qualified eye doctors out there looking for Medicare dollars!

Dr. Honkanen was very personable and completely engaged in our discussion. He mentioned some possible recommendations but also considered the cost/benefit which ultimately postponed the expenses he felt were not necessary at this time. In addition, Gabriela my technician, was a combination of being knowledgeable, caring and very sweet! Both are an exceptional combination these days!!!!!!

Good doctor but the office wait time is two hours

I first met Dr. Honkanen when another dr recommended laser irridotomy and was too pompous to take the time to explain procedure and the necessity. I met with Dr Honkanen and he went over procedure and I chose to have it done. I have been seeing him for eye exams. I have now had cataract surgery as the cataracts had become a problem for me. I love that he takes the time to explain without talking down to you and asks if you have any questions ... does not rush you out. I highly recommend!

I'm not young and have had my share of health issues, i. e., many doctors, not all great. Dr. Honkanen is one of the better ones. I would (& do) recommend him to anyone. More importantly, other opthalmologists I know have the same high opinion.

Very kind and knowledgable

I have only good things to say about Dr. Honkanen. He is kind, thoughtful, very knowledgable and professional. I would recommend him to friends and family without reservations and have already done so.
