I was in a serious car accident back in 1995. I was in a coma at the time Dr. Hillyard helped make the decision to repair my pelvis, femur even though other doctors on my trauma care team didn't think he should bother doing it. He insisted in the hope that I would come out of a coma and walk again someday. My prognosis was very poor, but thanks to him I live a relatively normal life now. I have had several doctors tell me how impressed they were with the 10 hour surgery that was done and the x rays prove it. I was able to learn how to walk again at rehab 3 months later after coming out of a coma 5 weeks after the accident. He made me new again and I am so grateful for his professional and caring actions.

Amazing Orthopedic Doctor
He was one of the Doctors on call on the night of my serious accident and he put “Humpty Dumpty” back together again. Checked in on me regularly and throughly explained everything that was going on and what to expect. He is the one who put on and removed my casts, and removed staples. He’s a hands on doctor and does the work most doctors pass off to nurses (at least in my case) He is honest and tells it to you straight! He does the work and expects you as his patient to do the work only you can do. Beyond grateful that he was the orthopedic doctor working on me! If something traumatic were to ever happen to me (again), or my loved ones he is the Orthopedic Surgeon I would want working on any of us. He truly is one of the greatest Orthopedic doctors out there.

I was lucky that Dr. HILLYARD came by my emergency room after he finished with a surgery in the wee hours of October 6, 2016. My arm had been set by ER docs but not to the best functional alignment. He spent considerable time reviewing possible treatment outcomes with me. Dr. HILLYARD is a highly regarded surgeon but we did not choose surgery. He re- set my arm and saw me every day on the trauma unit. He saw me during each follow-up appointment. He was incredibly patient, kind and thorough.
