Great urologist!
Dr. Hart was wonderful! He was knowledgeable, patient, thorough and explained my mom's condition very carefully. He did cystoscopy on her and it went very smoothly. Don't be turned away by the negative reviews on his office staff even though they were not great. It is worth the effort to put up with office staff and see Dr. Hart.

Good doctor, nearly impossible to get in
I have been with Dr. Hart for years and found him helpful, personable and good. However, now that he has joined the INOVA network, it is impossible to get an appointment with him. The call center is terribly backed up and the person I finally did get was unhelpful and rude. She told me there was nothing available until three months from when I called. Then she wouldn't even provide a referral. Reluctantly, I am switching doctors.

Doesn't seem to care about his patients
Had prostate cancer and a procedure, but after a few months (while on a long trip) the PSA went up. I panicked and tried to speak with him. It was IMPOSSIBLE. Not even through email. The staff wanted me to "make an appointment in person" which was of course impossible. I was under a lot of anguish and needed to have his opinion, but nobody really cared about me anymore.

The initial visit for kidney stones was good. Dr. Hart told me to get an x-ray in a week and then see what that showed. I got the x-ray and called to check that the doctor received the x-ray; then nothing. It was about three weeks before someone from the office, not the doctor, finally called me with the results. No one even asked if I had pain from the kidney stones. Also none of my test results were posted on my electronic record so I had to hassle with the office to get a copy of my records.

Good Doctor - terrible staff! After 2 stays in the ER I waited 2 weeks for an appointment with Dr. Hart who had been my urologist for many years. Because I had not seen him the past 5 years (I had no reason to) I am now considered a new patient. This alone is BS! Dr. Hart knows my history, or so I hoped, and this is why I went out of my way to see him. I did not anticipate the horrible traffic and arrived 15 min late. The heartless receptionist did not let me see the Doctor - not even for a minute to hand him my file from the ER. She offered to reschedule but I declined. After over an hour stuck in traffic I was stressed out and they merciless turned me away! I will look for an urologist closer to home. Their loss - because I won’t refer anyone ever again.

Dr Hart was OK but the staff are utterly incompetent. Impossible to get a live person on the phone. They do not refill prescriptions even after the doctor has told the staff to do so!!! The staff are incompetent. Avoid this practice. Everything seemed OK when I was there 6 days ago but no prescriptions were ever submitted to the pharmacy even after staff were told to do so. Staff do NOT return phone calls.

Bad listening and/or apathetic attitude by Dr. Hart. I am having new, consistent pain. Dr ordered a test; a month away. I reluctantly agreed, lived with pain. Dr did not seem to register that. At test, told I was fine and that that test was not for someone who is having specific pain. I was told what tests should have been ordered. Called to have those scans prescribed before going back in. Doctor Hart won't call back. Wants me to come back in; another two weeks delay to any treatment.
