Pointless
I went to a minor emergency clinic after hurting for 5 weeks. He said I had bursitis and needed physical therapy. I had to see my pcp because only she can refer me for this. Had to get xray first, didn't show anything. So she referrede to Dr. Hansen. He said it wasn't bursitis because he could move my leg around without causing more pain. I asked what could cause the constant deep pain from crotch down to knee. It hurts to walk, impossible to get comfortable in bed. Said he had no idea. When he squeezed my thigh and I grimaced, he asked if it hurt, when I said yes, he said weird. Said if it still hurts , come back in January. Idid get a shot in my hip from his assistant , worst ever. I felt like he thought I made it up. Why would I ever go back in January?

Still in pain – Oct 21, 2023

Distracted
During my first and only visit Dr. Hansen seemed very distracted and disinterested. He yawned throughout the 15 minute meeting, checked messages on his smart watch multiple times, and barely glanced at the MRI. In short, he seemed completely disinterested in my case, was flippant about solutions and prognosis and I would characterize him as woozy. When I got home from my doctor's visit I Googled reviews and saw that 1 out 3 patients shared a similar experience. This is the first doctor review I have ever written but I think it is important to share my experience with others so they can make a more informed choice.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Strange behavior from laughing and silliness the first 2 visits to dark and stoic the day of the surgery. Gave me a partial knee replacement with bone on bone instead of a full replacement. I now have to have it redone and now my other knee on top! Been in much pain since September 22, 2020. Would NEVER recommend this guy! What a HUGE Mistake!!!

ALL PAIN, NO GAIN!!! – Oct 09, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Hansen III?
Dr. Hansen was not helpful in any way. He spent the entire visit reading messages on his smart watch. He said that my shoulder was completely fine and when I asked why I had lost mobility he said, "I have no idea." No further explanation. I had an MRI that reported a fracture. He said there was no fracture and wondered why the radiologist listed arthritis as a fracture. He did a steroid injection and jabbed the medicine into my shoulder all at once causing fairly intense pain to my already hurting area. I will definitely not be seeing him again.

I receive treatment during COVID-19, for multiple fractures of my shoulder, from Dr Robert Hansen in Round Rock. I was quick to be seen by Dr Hansen and scheduled for surgery a few days after being seen. Dr Hansen and everyone at his office went above and beyond to make this a positive experience for me. All his staff were positive and very friendly and helpful. You could tell they all enjoyed working there. He Listened and throughly explained everything to me, answered all my questions. Lorena the Surgical Coordinator make this all happen so quickly (even with me having Tricare insurance one of the more difficult to deal with) She stayed on top of everything and was always easy to be reached. Dr Hansens and his office made being injured during COVID-19 a pleasure rather than a nightmare. I recieved a call daily after my surgery. I'd highly reccomend Dr Robert Hansen to all my family and friends. Thanks!

Dr. Hansen is technically a very skilled surgeon. At my initial appointment, we spoke at length about the procedure, then again before surgery he made sure all my questions were answered. He is knowledgeable and kind, which helps when one is scared. His Physician Assistants were skilled and answered all my post-surgical questions to my satisfaction. For someone who has lived with such horrible pain for so long, I was impressed when after surgery my pain was controlled without feeling over medicated. Thank you, Dr. Hansen and team!

This doctor was awful! I saw him in the Killeen Texas location.I asked him questions about the knee injuries that I did have and still do have and he sat there like a lump on a log didn't answer any of the questions I stated or asked.now as I read his medical background I see that he is supposed to be skilled in the exact injuries that I have in my knees such as the ACL injuries that I have in both knees.he sat there didn't answer . Sad but very true. Maybe his belief in himself to fulfill what he's been trying to do is it as high as his background States!

I had Dr. Hansen perform surgery on my shoulder and bicep about 3 yrs ago. I have sought him out for consultations and treatment for knee pain also. He has a very relaxing way of explaining all aspects of treatments. I most definitely recommend him.

Dr. Hansen just up and moved, never gave any notice that he was moving and stop accepting my insurance all while I was still under his care from a surgery that he did in July 2016. Once I found out where he had moved to, I called his office only to be told that I would have to pay out of pocket. Not a good professional look.....
