Very unprofessional
My experience was terrible with the front office staff. They lied and told me they did not take my insurance so they asked if I wanted to self pay. I said yes. Then they immediately said “oh because you have ____ insurance we cannot take you as self pay either saying they were contracted with my insurance to not let me self pay”. Ridiculous! Who doesn’t take self pay??? I went to my car and called my insurance and they DID take it and it also said they took new patients with my insurance. I went back in to tell them they indeed did take my insurance only to have the story change that it was their decision to not take my insurance and to also not let me self pay for my appointment. I waited 5 months for this appointment only to be turned away AT THE TIME of the appointment! I was referred to this practice by my PCP- they never called me from that referral. I had to call them to get it scheduled. They don’t answer the phone, you have leave a message. Terrible attitudes! Never apologized!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I used to see Jamie here but she unfortunately left. I had to see Ennis in place of Jamie today. Upon arrival, the front desk was rude and dismissive. Ennis had an inability to actively listen to any concern or questions. He spent a lot of time "mansplaining" a thyroid issue I have had for over twenty years. I was ready to walk out of the appointment, but had already paid the co-pay. I will not be returning to him. I walked out furious with the treatment he provided.

This is the worst doctor's office I have ever visited. From an incredible rude front desk, never answering phones, and a doctor who racks up the charges on unnecessary tests, take your business elsewhere.

Felt like a number
I wrote an email to Dr. Ennis; in that email, I told him I felt a little like a number that I felt like he didn't care. I shared with him in my last appointment that I was suffering from unusual fatigue and having trouble concentrating. I am sharing something that has me very worried; he wasn't in the exam room for 10 minutes and said we will see what the blood work says. My blood work returned; his staff left a voicemail that I missed. I was upset that he never followed up beyond that. He called today and was angry that I had told him I felt like a number. If it were me, I'd put my ego aside and see what I can do to fix this issue. His response is he can't fix it and had prepared a list of other Endo's I can see. I have seen several patients who have given him reviews here that refer to his temper or his staff. I have never had an issue with the staff, but he deserves the rating he has. Put your ego aside Doctor Ennis.

Who Even Is This Guy?
At first, I was quite satisfied with Ennis Endocrinology, even though I never met the guy who named the practice after himself. As time went on, I was treated by one of his PA's and I was quite pleased. She communicated with me so well until July when I was told to take just a fraction of the thyroid medication that I actually needed. At my most recent appointment, I was greeted by an entirely new, absolutely flustered PA who had absolutely nothing good to say about her experience in the office with the ever-elusive Dr. Robert Ennis. (I've been a patient here for six months and still have yet to so much as meet the guy.) Upon talking to the new, frazzled PA, it was determined that I had been following the wrong advice for TWO AND A HALF MONTHS. Did I mention that this has all been happening while I'm pregnant? Not only am I trying to navigate pregnancy hormone fluctuations, gestational diabetes, and thyroid issues, I'm doing it all on a fraction of the medication that my body needs.

Must be a different office
I’ve been seeing Dr Ennis for parathyroid problem. Found him knowledgeable and his staff is on top of everything. Don’t understand a lot of negative staff comments. Staff has called back promptly when message left on voice mail. Yes, his office is busy but never waited longer than 15 minutes after arrival.

Front Iffice is TERRIBLE
Like the doctor, but dealing with the front office is aHUGE pain. Ive been coming here 3+ years and trying to get the simplest of questions asked by the front desk is ludicrous. They have only answered the phone once. I almost always get a voicemail and then they’ll call back when i’m busy and the train wreck continues. Just answer the phone and provide some customer service. So aggravating.

Dr Ennis is an extremely intelligent, compassionate & through Dr who truly cares about his patients! I have been under his care for several years now for a thyroid disorder, and he has always been very attentive & responsive to try and help me be my best health through the entire ordeal. He is probably the most intelligent Dr I have met with & the Boise area is extremely fortunate to have him as an option. I would highly recommend him!

Tried calling to make an appt. When the receptionist couldn't answer a single question I had, I proceeded to ask her if she was even able to help me for something that was needing to be taken care of and it seemed that she didn't know what she was doing. She got very aggressive with me then proceeded to hang up on me. Called back and a new receptionist answered, she too couldn't answer the most basic of questions about scheduling an appt. Dr. Ennis may want to ensure the people he hires aren't morons bc this clearly seems to be the case! Go elsewhere bc these people clearly don't know what they are doing!

In the beginning I liked him a lot. After working with me on my A1C control, he was satisfied and told me I was clear to go ahead and have a procedure to have a baby. When my RE called him to confirm, he back tracked and said no he wasn’t satisfied. I was devastated and this was the last straw in a series of unfortunate events that led to attempted suicide. Fast forward 4 years and I ended up seeing him instead of his PA and he used that visit to remind me who was boss! No intention of helping me or listening to my concerns. He merely wanted me to know that he knew I had mentioned our last meeting to my other providers and had to have the last word. Essentially blamed my insulin resistance/pcos( Ive had since I was 9 and weighed 56 lbs) /diabetes on me and left the room.

Dr. Ennis was polite and professional. At no time did I feel rushed during our visit. I asked as many questions as I wanted and Dr. Ennis answered each one sincerely. He explained everything throughly so it was easy to understand. He listened and considered my personal preferences on treatment as well as provided his suggestions. I did not feel pressured in any way. All of the staff I interacted with were polite and professional. This visit exceeded my expectations!

I have been going there for 2 years. Paid every bill on time except for the last one. I ran out of my diabetic meds and called the office 4 times with no response. The dr would refill my diabetic meds and I just got a call from an agency saying because I paid my bill late they dropped me as a patient without any communication what so ever. I’m out of meds and now have to find a new dr. HORRIBLE TREAMENT. How can you refuse a patient their medication without zero conversation!!
