Excellent doctor
Dr Chavez is very patient, listens and is very thorough. He also arranged a follow up meeting. Went over test results and even called in regards to an important test. Makes the patient feel at ease. His staff were also pleasant.

Hard to Make Appt, Lack of Followup
A caring doctor.. but it takes weeks to get an appointment and the NYU automated system makes it extremely difficult to snag a cancellation, messages or phone calls are very often not responded to promptly (meaning many days..), and wait times are excessive. Sadly, this all compromises good medical care and many long time patients have had to leave his practice.

Kind, thorough, non judgemental. Takes time with his patients and really listens. Great about follow up and calling you back. I have been seeing Dr. Chavez for ten years and even choose my health plans based on whether he is in network. Wait times for appointments can sometimes be tough because he is so popular, but he is worth it. Now that he is at NYU one has to deal with a very bureaucratic office (long wait times on phone, crazy phone menus, lots of separate offices who don't communicate) but again, Dr. Chavez is worth it.

Wait time to see doctor even with scheduled appointment is excessive. Doctor is not good following up on the phone. Staff doesn’t listen at all. Their pharmacy service is the worst, often times they miss rescheduling medication for many many days.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chavez for over 15 years. He is a caring soul, who always spends a lot of time with each of his patients. He remembers your issues, and follows up with appropriate blood tests, referrals and keeping track of your other doctors. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

What a shame. As nice and professional as Dr. Robert Chavez is, I had, and continue to have an awful time dealing with the doctor's office. Having similar issues as other reviewers - issues with making an appointment, long wait times, and incompetent staff - my bigger grievance is with the office staff and billing department. Since November I have been getting the run-around, more like ignorance, from Dr. Robert Chavez's office and billing department. I ended up with a copay bill for an annua
