I had trigger thumb and it was very painful. My thumb would get stuck and it was so much pain to unlock it. He tried a few cortisone shots but said surgery would be needed if I came back. Surgery was a clear SUCCESS! I highly recommend Dr B and his office.

Excellent physician with exceptional staff
Dr Boretz is an excellent physician and his staff is exceptional. He performed a distal bicep tendon repair on my right arm in mid-September 2022. The pain is now gone and I have full flexibility. Now it's just a matter of building the strength back in my bicep. The surgery without a doubt was a success. I highly recommend Dr Boretz.

Very skilled and approachable physician
I had a very bad rotator cuff tear due to an old injury. I approached another big practice in the area and just was not happy with general availability of the doctor and getting answers to my questions. Someone recommended Dr. Boretz. I had my first visit with him and Jodie, PA-C in his Bridgewater NJ office. It became very clear to me that he was the one who will fix my shoulder. Today, six months after I saw him the first time, was my last follow-up visit. My shoulder is 90% recovered to the state before the injury. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for patience and dedication.

Late, Disinterested, Precoccupied
Seemed preoccupied and anxious to get on to the next patient! 45 minutes after my appointment Dr. B arrived and showed little patient concern or interest. A quick hands on manipulation of my wrist and a murky set of comments. "Oh, by the way, your Xrays are negative". He answered a cell phone call as he was finishing, only to inform he'd call back later. Then an obligatory 'sorry' to me. I have had only great doctors at Summit Health, I guess I was due for a dud!

Tremendous help with my hand issues
Dr. Boretz initially treated my trigger thumb (right hand) and then I started to have issues with De Quervains tenosynovitis in both wrists. I was initially given cortisone injections which would help but due to the amount of typing and playing a musical instrument, a few months later the pain would return. Dr. Boretz did suggest that I think about surgery, but I did not want to go that route. He gave me scripts for Occupational Therapy which were helping but once I really started to use my hands for laborious work they acted up. The last cortisone shot helped but once again the pain returned with a vengeance. it had gotten to the point where it was unbearable. I opted for surgery & the surgical center was very nice, his PA Jody Kunkle was there during the procedure and both handled my post-surgical follow-up visits. Dr. Boretz and his entire staff are very caring, patient and I cannot thank them enough. I should have listened to him and had the surgery done sooner.

I recently had a cavernous hemangioma removed from my right hand. Dr. Boretz and his staff were absolutely wonderful to deal with every step of the way. I would highly recommend Dr. Boretz, the staff at Summit Health in Warren & the staff at Somerset Ambulatory Surgical Center in Somerville to anyone contemplating surgery.

Dr. Boretz, along with PA Jodie Kunkle, and there staff are wonderful. I had two issues. A torn tendon, in my right elbow, along with carpal tunnel, in my right hand. Each surgery done with some time in between, but not long after. That was my choice. Everything went prefect. The Drs and staff worked with me, throughout both procedures. Dr. Boretz and Dr Jodie, are wonderful. They are understanding, explain everything that you are going to experience, and fixed both issues with all going well. Full use of hand as well as arm/ elbow. I highly recommend, both Drs as well as there practice. Thank you.

I would like to let anyone looking for a great Orthopedic Surgeon look no further then Summit Medical Group, Dr Boretz and his Assistant Jody and their Staff are the best. For years I had problems with both my hands, arms dropping things, locking up, constant pain and not being able to have full function, and not being able to sleep .I finally decided to do something and had two surguries. first right hand , fingers and wrist, second surgery the left elbow ,I can tell you this its so nice to be able to have full function with no more fingers and arms locking up and no more pain.So if you ask me who's the best, I know I have complete trust with them.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Boretz for about 2 years now. I like how knowledgeable he is and easy to explain things as well as procedures. I am very confident with his medical advice. As for the long waiting, since Covid, it has caused the appts to be distant and I have been able to get in and out within an hour which is great. I still give Dr. Boretz a 5 Star because his service is really that good. As for the long wait, Many doctors double book because of the process of getting patients in.

The entire Staff of Dr Boretz worked seamlessly to provide me with great support , scheduling help for things like pre-surgery covid tests and disability paperwork for consecutive left hand/right hand carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgery. They were on top of the major and minor pieces of a complex process, even helping with last minute additional disability paperwork that helped me start getting $ quickly. After the surgeries, Dr Boretz called me to see how I was doing followed up by calls from the surgery center and the office. What a refreshing experience in healthcare.

My initial visit to Dr. Boretz was good - the issue I saw him for was successfully treated. However, upon arrival for my follow up visit a few weeks later at 8:20am, the person checking in ahead of me also had an 8:20am appt! I asked how that could be possible and the front desk staff shrugged and informed me they the doctor tells them to double book appts. I specifically chose an early morning appt so I could get to work just a bit later than usual, but soon found out that there were 6 people ahead of me that were still waiting to be seen! Dr. Boretz has no respect for patient’s time. I immediately left and will never return.

I had a very rare case regarding the deformed bone structure of my right clavicle. I went to several doctors to seek options. Every other doctor rejected my case and said that I should just live with it. However, Dr.Boretz was very knowledgeable confident in taking on my case and the results from the surgery were successful. I am so grateful to have had Dr.Boretz as my surgeon

Dr. Boretz did a fabulous job repairing my shoulder and rotator cuff. He also had to install a plate , 10 screws and bone fragments as a result of an accidental fall. With physical therapy after the surgery, I am making great progress in gaining mobility and strength in my shoulder. Outstanding surgical results!
