Not good
Got 4 wisdom teeth removed by him. First few days it was clearly infected and he disregarded it like it was not a big deal and refused to give antibiotics. Its been a month and there's still pain and swelling in my jaw. Even the day of the surgery, the nursing staff was extremely unhelpful and didn't even offer a wheelchair when I got up from surgery and could barely even walk to my car.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed and highly recommend seeing Dr. Shaikh!! I was extremely nervous since I had been told by other doctors at different places that in doing my teeth extraction, I had a slight chance of becoming paralyzed in my lower face since my bottom wisdom teeth were so close to the nerve line. I came to see a new doctor at a new location (Midwest Oral Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery in St. Peters - Dr. Shaikh) and his WONDERFUL assistant Matt after hearing this news to get a second opinion and WOW was it the best thing I did. Dr. Shaikh completely reassured me that in no way was I going to be paralyzed because the nerve line would only possibly make me become temporarily/permanently numb, but chances were very very slim since I am young and in good health (and he's very good at his job), and nerve lines had nothing to do with motor function. SO, after doing some serious crying in front of them, I got my surgery done and have ZERO NUMBNESS afterwords!!

My daughter just had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Sheikh and I have to say this was the worst patient care experience I have ever had in my 50 years. The consultation was a video to watch. No discussion of her specific situation no care or concern after surgery. No patient check in call day of surgery or anytime there after. My daughter started experiencing extreme pain on day three still under narcotics and we were told pain management was necessary. She suffered three days and three nights of excruciating pain calling the exchange multiple timesBy day five post surgery her dentist stepped in and found out she had 2 dry sockets and an infection. Did not get a call from this oral surgeon until an hour after dental appointment- five days after her surgery and multiple days of trying to get help.

Dr. Shaikh is one of the kindest, and knowledgeable doctors I know. I've had chronic facial pain for years, and he has done whatever he can to find a solution. Very friendly, and takes time to listen to what you have to say. I highly recommend him.

I'm approx. 1 week out from my wisdom teeth removal (6x teeth). Procedure went perfectly--the bleeding stopped very soon after the surgery, no pain during surgery or subsequent to it, I was even able to enjoy some parts of lunch and dinner with my family that night. I felt that not only was Dr. Shaikh a perfectly efficient surgeon, but he was very good at communicating the necessary medical information prior to and after surgery (he also makes courtesy calls). Staff were additionally wonderful.

My teen daughter was alot less anxious about having her wisdom teeth removed after the consultation with Dr. Shaikh. I was very pleased with the quick procedure, minimal pain, and recovery of less than a week. The office staff was friendly and helpful to arrange a fast appt. I'm happy we chose Dr. Shaikh for her surgery and will highly recommend him to others. Debbie S
