Hands surgery
Dr. Dotson did carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands and now I need another surgery to remove a cyst from my thumb joint. Would NOT want any other surgeon to mess with my hands. Great bedside manner. Explains things wonderfully. And Marie is awesome as well!!!

Excellent
Very aggressive, did a distal biceps surgery or another surgeon said they wouldn’t, been probably 15 years, after another surgeon said risk vs. gain Wouldn’t do the surgery glad I went to Dr. Dotson for second opinion Even when he did the reattachment after the recommended time period for the surgery no issues

Awesome Dotson!
I have experienced other orthopedic surgeons in far/recent past. It's an all-around positive feeling to be referred to Dr. Dotson: have an orthopedic surgeon who attempts to listen, share the MRI films, reports (so we may understand/ask questions) and someone you can relate with in the concerns a patient(s) may express. He works diligently to attempt the best solutions possible for a positive resolve to the patient(s)' condition(s). His front desk Office Administrative Manager is a multi-tasker herself (Marie). She's wonderful and works very hard and attempts to move efficiently to complete her tasks. She works well with patients to assure their needs are met and speaks very kindly! Thank you for making an effort to have the patients feel welcome and providing a heartfelt warmth that they are being taken care of!

I am very thankful that my family physician referred me to Dr. Dotson. He tried a non-surgical approach to my treatment prior to my surgery. Dr. Dotson is very intelligent, kind and thorough. His office staff is the best. I would highly recommend this physician. It is well worth waiting to get an appointment to see this man. The Redding/Red Bluff area is very lucky to have such a highly qualified and competent orthopedic surgeon in our area.

Dr Dotson repaired my shredded Achilles tendon, allowing my to resume normal activity. He was thorough in explaining the procedure and what my ongoing limitations would be to insure continued success of the surgery. His after surgery bedside manner was surprisingly caring (as the nature of surgeons is generally to fix you up and move along). His staff at the office was great too. The cast technician was friendly and competent. He explained the procedures of applying, wearing and removal of the cast well.

I was referred to Dr. Dotson by another orthopedist because a MRI didn't show any damage, He indicated his high regard for Dr. Dotson's abilities. He examined me and recommended surgery. During surgery he found that I had a rare condition known as a "bucket tear" of the lateral meniscus. It was 90 % torn. Dr. Dotson removed the damaged part of the meniscus which cured the knee problem. I have never been more pleased with any professional in any capacity than Dr. Dotson. He is simply the best.

I'd never had surgery before. Dr. Dotson listened to my concerns, never rushed me out, made me feel comfortable, and performed my shoulder surgery with success. He has a very gentle, caring personality. Dr. Dotson treats you like an important patient unlike the larger practices. You will not be sorry getting to know him and his very kind staff!!

Dr. Dotson and his entire staff are very friendly and caring. He listens intently to what I have to say and I have never felt rushed or that he had anything other than my best interests at heart. My course of treatment included 10 separate injections over the course of 10 weeks. Even though I live two hours away, I gladly drive that distance to his office. There are not words enough to express my happiness with the care I have received there.
