Patient Review Dr. Santarosa and Staff.
I've been a patient of Dr. Santarosa for several years. I started seeing him as a result of an enlarged prostate discovered by a doctor doing a required annual employment physical. I was reccomended by a coworker. Since then I've been treated by Dr. Santarosa for the enlarged prostate, prostatitus, UTI's and elevated PSA. My surgeries include two hydrocele repairs and prostate laser surgery. All were successful with no complications and I'm doing well. Dr. Santarosa is a gifted professional doctor and surgeon. I highly recommend him. I've found him willing to listen to my concerns and consider my opinions with regards to my treatment. After every surgery and office visit I remind Dr. Santarosa how glad I am that he's my urologist and wish him God's blessings. Also, I've found the nurses and medical assistants to be caring and professional. With regards to the office staff, they've been friendly and courteous. Never a problem. Thanks Nick P. for recommending me to Doctor Santarosa !

Surgery
The outcome of my surgery by Dr. Santarosa was unsuccessful. I now have to have another surgery with a different Urologist. I strongly urge other patients to seek a competent Urologist.

Rude office staff
Dr. Santarosa is a very nice doctor with a terrible office staff. They are poor and communicating, giving instructions and following through. Basically a complete lack of accountability. On top of that, they are extremely rude. I am leaving the practice because of my terrible experiences with this staff.

THIS DR SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF. HOW DO YOU LET PATIENTS GO ON HAVING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS NOT KNOWING IF THEY HAVE CANCER? AND NOT JUST ONE TIME... AFTER THE FIRST ROUND WITH BIOPSY, IT WAS WEEKS TO GET ANY RESPONSE...HE APPOLOGIZES AND SAID IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. THEN AFTER SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR DAYS...AFTER 4 CALLS INTO HIS OFFICE ON THE SAME DAY, THE NURSE FINALLY CALLS BACK TO SAY, "OH THE RESULTS ARE IN...BUT YOU CAN'T SPEAK TO THE DR BECAUSE HE WENT AWAY FOR THE WEEKEND". THIS DR SHOULD BE REPORTED...CAN'T CARE TOO MUCH ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. SO SAD TO SEE THAT DR'S LIKE THIS EXIST.

Dr. Santarosa is an excellent physician. Unfortunately, his front office staff needs help. If you want more frustration in your life, try to communicate with Dr. Santarosa’s office. In a word, awful.

Arrived to my 02:45PM appointment at 02:30. After the paperwork had been done, the receptionist asked me to agree and sign the privacy policy. I asked for seeing the privacy policy before signing it, that she could not produce. I have waited for her to get me the copy, she was on the phone most of the times, until the nurse called my name at 03:10PM. After informing her, that I haven't signed the privacy policy yet since I didn't see it, she informed me that she cannot bring me in. I thanked her and and at this point, gave her the tablet and walked out. This is not about the doctor, didn't even see him. The office staff doesn't seem to care much, nor can they produce a copy of the privacy policy. At some point she was downright rude. This is not a practice that I'll visit anytime soon. One start would be over rating the office staff.

I am a central MA resident who was visiting my son in Stamford when a kidney stone attack required emergency surgery. Lucky for me Dr Santarosa was on call that day. He was very professional, kind and skilled - the best. I would never have received such excellent care if I had been home. Thank you.

Dr Santarosa is a wonderful physician. He operated on me in 1999 and again in 2004. He was professional, thorough and compassionate. It’s now 2019 and I haven’t given it a second thought about going back to him. He’s the same, if not better than 20 years ago!

My partner and I just had a very unpleasant experience with Dr Santarosa and his office staff. A procedure had been scheduled for several weeks and despite reaching out to office staff for directions on prep and sending emails seeking clarification, there was no response. Arrived at office this morning and Fran stated she had a crazy week and was in training the day before.so couldn't respond. No apology and the procedure would need to be rescheduled.. Very poor patient service and experience

Very poor "bedside Manner". Treats you like a number and not a person. Spends as little time with you as possible. I would not recommend him and will be finding another urologist.

Wish I had met him earlier as now I moved to Florida and miss his expertise. Dr. Santarosa is one of the best urologists I have been to and all I can say is that I wish CT were closer to FL. He's the best.

Definitely worth the wait. I've been having a urological compliant for a while and seen several doctors who specialize in urology. Every time I've not been satisfied with their diagnosis or explanation. Whilst I had to wait almost a month for an appointment it turned out to be worth it. Dr. Santarosa was very good at explaining everything and taking his time to ensure you were satisfied with your course of treatment.
