Very rushed
Doctor Perkins was nice enough but spent very little time with me. Said my MRI results didn’t show really anything of concern despite the fact that I’m in a lot of pain. Didn’t really seem to want to answer my questions and I had a bunch that I didn’t even get the chance to ask. Referred me to pain management, which I’m fine with, but I wish I could have gotten more out of this appointment that I waited for.

4 minute appointment
4 minute appointment. He never examined or touched me. He did ask me what was wrong. Answered a few yes or no questions. Referred me to a specialist when I asked a question regarding osteoporosis. He did order MRI and PT. I got a quick appointment which says a lot. He was ok and will go back for follow-up after MRI. Previously went to orthopedic associates years ago at Fish and Game in Hudson. They are so much better but you wait for an appointment, but they are worth the wait.

Awesome!
Dr Perkins put up with a LOT from me and he handled my sixty questions and anxiety very well. My back surgery was done at the Surgical Center and went off without a hitch. In the future, I will need further treatment, and I will be going right back to him when the time comes. Thank you for your fine work!

Dr Perkins did surgery on my back that went well, but now years later I have pain, he seems absent when I am telling him I have pain on the opposite side. He just said let’s see but didn’t examine me ! ???? The office staff are rude , one lady that I was speaking to on the phone, told me she didn’t have time when I asked a question about forms ! I had to fill out form online, then at the kiosk and then was given the same paper form at the checkin. Was ignored when I asked why . I need a doctor I’m in pain

I'm amazed at the terrible reviews here. Dr. Perkins is an excellent surgeon and doctor and has always treated me well. I first visited him barely able to walk. I'm a mail carrier and had broken my back during work, and he championed my condition when Kingston Hospital wouldn't even administer pain medication. He seems to have a very neutral personality, but the morning of my surgery, he came in to the hospital wing upbeat, joking and happy to be there. This is a man who loves what he does and is passionate about his patients, but maybe tones it down in the office. My surgery went exceedingly well. I am still a mail carrier, carrying hundreds of pounds of packages and mail every day. Dr. Perkins will not suggest surgery or even medication therapy unless he believes it is the only avenue of recovery, from his professional opinion. This is a rarity in his field and I find it one of his best qualities. I would highly recommend him for any back-related issues.

MAJOR WASTE OF TIME-DO NOT GO !!!! My elderly but very mentally sharp mother has spinal stenosis and was expecting a normal, useful medical visit, meaning an exam, discussion, options, etc.. This "doctor" did NOTHING! Dr. Perkins didn't exam her AT ALL- all he did was recommend physical therapy after two pointless questions-no exam, no discussions even though she had 4 falls this year and is having difficulty walking. This guy needs to switch careers !!!!

He has the personality of a bag of rocks. He saw my xrays before he saw me and knew I required no surgery. So he comes into my room and says "no surgery needed"....."exercise" and thats it.....he gave absolutely no indication that he cared about my condition. But he was polite. He talked in kinda a monotone speaking voice, very robotic. Had no opinion on anything I had to say....stared me right in the eyes while talking, expressionless. Offered zero advice. I asked for cortisone, he said ok.

OADC for acute back pain. The office is a busy one, so phone waiting time was normal, but professional and courteous; scheduled an appointment for me within 2 hours; same day X-rays, MD visit; MRI scheduled the very next morning in less than 2 hours. Dr. Perkins was excellent - knowledgeable, courteous, sincere, and empathetic. The MRI was completed as an urgent MRI as Dr. Perkins was going on vacation the next two weeks to insure I would receive prompt results. MRI tech. was also wonderful.

My surgery could not have gone better. I had no pain after the surgery. I was given a prescription for oxycodone, but never used it. I healed very quickly and as soon as I was permitted I began physical therapy. I did my exercises twice a day and nine weeks after the operation I was back to normal. The only reason I didn't give him 5 stars is that he is very terse and does not give you much info unless you press him. He is a nice man, just not very forthcoming.

Office staff that answers phones in poughkeepsie office does not return phone calls. even the week of surgery you may need to wait by the phone for 3 days for a call back. dr presents as uncompassionate with abrupt nature. his knowledge gets lost in his delivery.

Both my wife and I have used Doctor Perkins and both are extremely pleased with him and the results of his expertise. My wife had spinal stenosis and was operated on by him and today she is much improved. Just this past week, she and I walked half way across the mid Hudson pedestrian walkway. Before her surgery she could only walk one short block. You do not have to go to Manhattan to see a top orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Perkins is one of the best and he is right here in the Hudson Valley.
