Worst Dr. that I have ever been to!
I have going to this office for twenty five years and I was switched to Dr. Martin in Jan. My first visit with him was him complaining about politics and how it is affecting “his” office. Wrote me a prescription and told me to get it filled on the way home. In trusting him, I did just that. Well, that got me labeled. I am very upset. This guy is a narcissist and should not be practicing. Now I have lots of pain and have to deal with it because I did as I was told and picked up the prescription. I won’t go into name calling but I sure would like to. The office staff changed and is almost as bad. I switched doctors in June. Thank God. I would like to leave him no stars if I could.

Rude, Condescending attitudes
Dr Martins nurse Rosemarie is a rude, condescending human. They failed multiple times to cancel blood work and issues the correct blood test. Prescribed Humera without a tb test. Seems like the back office is a mess and Rosemarie loves to hang up when she’s done talking on the telephone. Couldn’t transfer to a new rheumatologist fast enough!

Effectively manages and provides support for problems other providers are not familiar with. Listens well and works to find solutions. Has improved my quality of life and would recommend him highly as part of a care team for anyone with auto-immune complications.

I especially loved how Dr. Martin really took his time to explain my conditions with me as well as my treatment options. I had a great visit and the doctor's demeanor has really put me at ease so I highly recommend. He has helped immensely and I’m very grateful for this!

Unfortunately my experience was similar to what others have shared. I was referred to Dr. Martin after my previous rheumatologist retired. He spent my appointments complaining about Obamacare cutting into his pay, having to do work for patients during the Super Bowl, and belittling other patients who he said weren’t as intelligent as I was. I also did not like some of the decisions he made regarding my treatment. He may have been among the best in his field at one time, but at this point maybe he’s just burned out and jaded. I saw him for a couple of years and ultimately moved on to a different rheumatologist.

I have been seeing Dr Martin since 2005 when I came down with RA an autoimmune disorder that Dr Martin has diagnosed and treated. He is a wonderful doctor and very professional. I would highly recommend him to anybody looking to get diagnosed and treated for most any autoimmune disease. The office staff are also very organized, professional, and friendly. I am very comfortable during these uncertain times going into this office and getting treated.

He said that the diagnosis I came to him with was incorrect. So he changed it without any further testing. After a over a year of treatment for the new diagnosis under his care with no improvement, he comments: you have a serious condition but I can't help you. I'm sending you to... He should have never been granted a license to practice medicine anywhere on Earth!

My husband has been seeing Dr. Martin for years, and I have attended many appointments with him. We both find Dr. Martin to be professional and knowledgeable. He spends a great deal of time explaining treatment options, both medications and lifestyle. My husband always leaves with a comprehensive visit note. His RA has been very well managed. Dr. Martin has participated in numerous clinical trials, which makes him a wealth of knowledge.

I recently saw Dr Martin after a long hiatus. He spent an inordinate and UNPROFESSIONAL amount of time talking about himself, things he has written, big names he has studied with, and slamming local hospitals. I received my visit note in the mail and he questioned my diagnoses from other specialists, and had incorrect information. Appears arrogant and "all knowing". I do not know why he is respected in the medical community. He readily talks about other patients. He talks over you and interrupts. He admittedly lacks empathy (unprofessionally) telling me how he lacked any feelings during **** (particular personal life events where others might feel joy or sorrow). He needs to retire and admire his plaques. Office staff were so scripted and rushed I was shaking by the time the instructions for registering were fired at me.

I have never “reviewed” any one for anything but after reading all of the negative reviews I felt a need. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion and perception. I would hate to have Dr. Martin’s reputation based on the five star rating system attached to this web site. If it makes any difference at all I would like to say that I have been a patient of Dr. Martin for approx. 25 years. He diagnosed and treated me from that first appt. until now. Happy to say my RA is totally under control. I started out with approx. 25 effected joints and now almost none. Sure there are limitations but I am so happy for all I CAN do and not dwell on the negative. Dr. Martin has dedicated his career to helping others in dire need for relief of chronic pain due to many different auto immune diseases. Thank you Dr. Martin and staff for you excellent service and kindness. Wish more patients would write positive reviews rather than just the unhappy few who choose to criticize. ??

Dr Martin is the most self centered, rude, arrogant Dr. I have ever seen, spends a lot of time talking about himself and telling you there’s nothing wrong with you, the only reason I gave one star is because can’t leave 0

I found D r Martin arrogant, rude and condescending. He spends most of his time talking about himself and how important he is and very little time trying to help his patient. I would not recommend him to anyone. He was horrible. Just horrible.

I would not recommend Dr. Martin to anyone even if he were the last Rheumatologist on earth. I am shocked he is still able to practice medicine! He will talk over you, argue with you about your symptoms, put down fellow peers including his own nursing staff. He is the most arrogant doctor I have ever met! He talks non stop about himself and about other patients, how do I know he is not talking about me to other patients? Dr Martin was so rude I left in tears, I have since found a new Dr.

Richard Martin is very rude, inconsiderate and condescending. He also is not honest about what he puts in his notes on patient's records. I DO NOT recommend him for Rheumatology. He should not be practicing in medicine and needs his license taken away.

I've been seeing Dr. Martin for over a year and with each appointment I have high hopes that he will care about me as a patient, unfortunately he spends the majority of every appointment talking about himself and what a fabulous doctor he is, how much he is published, how bad other doctors are, how “horrible” our government is, and about other patients… YES, he talks about other patients, especially if they take pain meds, like opioids or narcotics. I couldn't believe he was telling me that!

I wouldn’t recommend this doctor at all. No amount of schooling or credentials can make up for his pompous and rude attitude. The way he speaks to others is demeaning and I can see why it’s costing him patients. If you don’t like your career, retire for the wellbeing of the patients! Glad he is no longer “treating” me.

Seen him for years and, while he used to be very proactive and responsive, he has stopped providing adequate care. He does not touch or look at my joints, continuing to insist that I do not have active arthritis. I follow all instructions, but am not getting any relief from my pain. Scare tactics have been used to discourage me from asking for adequate care -even offering me my patient charts. The office staff used to be so kind, polite, and caring, but that has not been the case in a few years.
