Dismissive. Disinterested. Disrespectful.
Dismissive. Disinterested. Disrespectful. Made a joke of my condition, stating, 'Sometimes we don't find answers. Just accept it. If it makes you feel better, we can give it a name.' He then made up a silly name and chuckled. At times he barked at me, like he was talking to a dog. I went through a lot of expense and effort to get to Cedars-Sinai, and after the long wait, Dr. Lewis' attitude and lack of concern was completely disheartening. Unfortunately, even when I saw other doctors at the facility who actually tried to find answers concerning my condition, things would eventually somehow circle back to Dr. Lewis, whose dismissiveness seemed to influence the whole process. I've been told he was a good doctor at one time, but maybe he's at an age now where he just doesn't care anymore. He really should retire. I advise others with neurological conditions to avoid him at any cost.

Disappointed
I saw Dr. Lewis on a remote video call. My symptoms were similar to those of (a rare neurological condition). Without having met me, Dr. Lewis stated he didn’t agree with my suspected diagnosis, yet offered no ideas and no testing. Later, I read in his clinical notes he had written my symptoms off as psychological. Unfortunately, this cop-out is not unusual amongst family doctors who are unfamiliar with autoimmunity, and are not interested in exploring for answers. The most shameful part is that this misleading notation is common among rare disease patients. It seems provides don’t expect patients to review their after-visit clinical notes.

I told Dr Lewis that I'm on a trial with UCI and he asked why not Cedars and I said they never contacted me. I'm not sure what's going on with the clinical research department but I've received very positive experiences with UCI so I'm going to continue with them but you should know that Cedars could do a better job on the administrative side of things.
