I was dissatisfied with my previous gastroenterologists then I found Dr Chasen. He came very highly recommended and I have been seeing him for over 10 years now. He treats his patients with dignity and actually has a conversation with them! He has also performed multiple procedures for me, with no complications. I absolutely trust him with my GI care. His staff and nurses are wonderful too and take good care of patients. I highly recommend Dr Chasen and his practice.

Best Gastroenterologist
Dr. Chasen has been my doctor for over 30 years. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable he is an incredible person. He dispenses his medical expertise with warmth and understanding. He is always willing to listen and answer questions. When the difficult situations and conditions arise he is always compassionate. I often think it’s a shame more doctors don’t relate to their patients in the manner Dr. Chasen does. I most highly recommend him!

20 years of outstanding care
Just had another outstanding visit with Dr. Chasen! 20 years ago, I made an appointment due to some very concerning symptoms that I had been experiencing for months. I had lost my best friend to colon cancer and I was scared. Dr. Chasen was compassionate, knowledgeable and committed to finding an answer to my pain and many symptoms. I remember him taking my hand after my colonoscopy and telling me I had Crohn’s Disease. He reassured me that he and his staff would be there for me on this new journey. Through my many ups and downs, treatment, few hospital stays Dr. Chasen has been right there. He educated me about my illness, work with my primary doctor, coordinated treatment, tests, medications, etc. Every step of the way, he has been there. 20 years of outstanding, thoughtful, professional care! I know my many long remissions are due to him. He treated me and also taught me how to live my best life with Crohn’s. THANK YOU Dr. Richard Chasen!

Very Poor
Very bad experience during colonoscopy Nov 2021 . Fell when getting dressed after procedure. Staff should have realized I wasn’t ready and should not have been directed me to get dressed when ready and without assistance. I’m elderly. Went to emergency care across street where the intake was a horror show. Neither Dr Chasen nor his staff ever contacted to see how I was doing next day. They all lacked compassion and responsibility of any kind. Was in dominant hand splint 6 full months, back injuries requiring injections and head wound. Head just starting to completely heal 14 monhs later. Shame on Dr. Chasen. True zero.

FABULOUS!!! After 2 other gastroenterologist and still undiagnosed, Dr. Chasen found the answer and treated appropriately! He is both kind and compassionate, EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very thoughtful in approaching a path to wellness. He answers all questions presented (and I had/have MANY) and makes sure you understand. His staff at both the office and Sugicenter is also outstanding. Would absolutely recommend highly him!!!

Dr Chasen has treated our family for over 20years. He diagnosed my husband's colon cancer and referred him for curative surgery in 2007 and has followed up with frequent colonoscopies. He has treated me for reflux, constipation and related symptoms of ibs. He has never been too busy to see us when necessary.

Dr. Chasen listened to my complaint and then suggested a test which he did, and gave me a thorough explanation for the recommended course of treatment. He answered my questions in a manner that I could understand. I am a long term patient, and plan to continue to be so, as he knows his medical stuff and cares about his patients.

Dr. Chasen has cared for our family since 1998. He diagnosed my husband's colon cancer, removed a polyp and referred him for surgery with excellent outcome. He performs my sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopies and treatment for hemorrhoids, constipation and reflux. He promptly returns phone messages and has always been available when we needed him. He has a pleasant, soothing manner and I never feel rushed during an appointment. He listens. He and his staff are professional and attentive.

Very patriarchal in manner. Insensitive and dismissive to patient's concerns, questions, or thoughts on condition. Diagnostic process and medical conclusions based SOLELY on whatever gleaned from patient's historical records. Absolutely no exploration of other options or medications to medical conditions. 1 size fits all approach. Colonoscopy, colonoscopy, colonoscopy.
