NEGLECT OF STANDARD OF CARE
We saw him for many years, before the pandemic, and we must say that Dr. Richard Buurman really doesn't seem to actually care for his patients. NO physician should be putting up notices that "only two questions per visit are allowed." He constantly exhibit passive-aggressive behavior. When asked to do an evaluation of wether or not my wife should be seen by a neurologist, he REFUSED go do the simple three-question test, and a short few weeks later, she was diagnosed as being in stage 2/3 dementia, as Alzheimers, and that she had been in dementia for about ten years

While I feel Dr Buurman is a very competent doctor, his staff is not. On one visit my doctor came in with the wrong patient information and had to go back out and have it corrected. My appointments were written down wrong on appointment cards. When I showed my card to the receptionist proving that I did have an appointment that day she became very angry at me. Medicine changes were not documented in my file when provided to the nurse. I requested copies of lab work and was told they would be mailed to me. After several request I still do not have those. This office is very secretive and acts as if you the patient has no rights.

I have had the exact same uncaring experiences with the doctor & his staff is very rude, uncaring, argumentative, & incompetent. They actually had the wrong person pulled up when I went there for my flu shot.

Dr. Buurman doesn't really care about his patients. My father waited 6 weeks and still couldn't get the results of his heart monitor test. After being seen in the hospital and receiving blood transfusions, Dr. Buurman's office showed very little concern and couldn't even see him for a week, even though the hospital said he needed blood tests within 3 days. The staff is also very rude and unprofessional.

I spent a lot of time waiting for each visit(1/2 hour minimum). While I am not sick nor have I been, he insists on seeing me every six months. At each visit he does nothing except listen to my heart and breathing. I seriously doubt if he gives a darn as long as the insurance gets billed for the 5 minutes he spends with me.
