Uncaring, unprofessional, shouldn’t be a doctor
Telehealth
First off, his appearance via telemed was that of a lazy bum. He asked questions like a typical doctor and I gave him answers. However, at our visit I was in mental health crisis with suicidal thoughts which I expressed several times. He had zero empathy. He said I was over medicated and on the wrong platform (telemed) for help. My insurance referred me to him. He took my money and did NOTHING to help. I’m lucky to still be alive today because after my visit I wanted to end my life even more so! I was able to get help from someone who does care. This man who showed up in a stained t-shirt should not be allowed to practice medicine because he does not care about people. He only cares about money.

Inconsiderate and Rude
Telehealth
I have seen Dr. Brown a handful of times. Every time I have an appointment he cancels the appointment. Today he cancelled it 15 minutes before the appointment. Dr. Brown refuses to fill my prescriptions unless I have a visit with him on video, but he’s always cancelling or not showing up. He harps on the fact to schedule a visit ahead of time, and I do. But he always cancels them last minute. If you want me to be so proactive about scheduling an appointment, let me schedule it while we are in the appointment, but noooo. That’s not an option. He is pretty rude and condescending, and I felt uncomfortable every time we met, but because the telehealth provider would not let me change providers I was pretty much stuck. And even though he cancels all appointments, he refuses to refill over a message. Have to have a visit. As you can imagine this puts me in a VERY bad position because I NEED my medication. Do yourself a favor and look for someone else. He will only let you down.

Did not show up to appointment.
Telehealth
I had scheduled a telehealth appointment with him through Sydney Health for 4-8-2024 at 9 AM CDT. he did not bother to show. 37 minutes in, and I’ve had it. It’s disrespectful and negligent for someone in the care field to not even bother to communicate why they’re late. I hope this man gets everything he deserves.

No Help
This was my first time seeking help for my depression and Dr.Brown did nothing but make me feel worse. He was very condescending, did not listen or process my answers to his line of questioning, seemed annoyed when i asked a question. In my assessment that i received after meeting with him was completely inaccurate based on the conversation we had. I do not recommend him at all after seeing a doctor who actually cares. This confirmed to me that Dr.Brown should not be in this line of work and is a risk for those dealing with depression and/or suicidal thoughts or actions. Call lasted less than 10 minutes, and at the end the only course of action he offered was a specific medication that he “is prescribing to a lot of patients” dealing with similar problems. Do not recommend at all.

Rushed - Unhelpful
$175 appointment lasted maybe 8 minutes. He essentially asked what medication I wanted. I asked what he recommended based on my history of depression and the fact that I didn't feel like my previous meds were doing the trick. I got the impression that actually having to talk and come up with some kind of treatment plan was a huge pain for him. It seemed like he had a list of questions he asks in every appointment and just ran down the list. In talking about possible medications, he'd run down another checklist of questions that had to do with side effects and would repeat questions from 2 minutes prior. He wasn't even listening or taking notes. Didn't feel heard, felt like he was annoyed to be in an appointment and certainly didn't feel like I got adequate treatment. It stands to reason, though, every other psychiatrist on the tele-health site was booked a month out and he had several openings that week.

Easy to work with. I was able to get a new patient appointment within 7 days and he was prompt for the telehealth visit. Not overly friendly but polite, efficient, and I'm happy with my plan of care.

Useless and rude.
My visit was rushed and impersonal, and Dr. Brown seemed condescending and uncaring. Although his resume says he specializes in my exact disorder, he told me he couldn't help me. The appointment lasted about 2 minutes if that. I've never felt less important during a doctor's visit.

No nonsense approach
I have been struggling with bi-polar II for the last 15 years, coupled with anxiety and panic attacks. I have seen so many Phycologists I couldn’t even count them on both hands. My first visit went amazingly! I told him what was going on and my prior diagnosis and that I had stopped treatment due to just not being taken seriously and fighting against medications that didn’t work for me. He confirmed my diagnosis and started me on a new mood stabilizer and recommended I continue therapy. Unfortunately that medication caused a bad reaction, he went over my options with me and explained everything in detail. Depakote is not for me, I do NOT want to go down that road again and he has been the first Dr. to say “okay, let’s choose another path”. Like THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO ME! Now I’m going to go fight my insurance because they’re denying what he prescribed, but I have full confidence in him. I love his dry demeanor. I have a therapist for my feelings, Dr. Brown is awesome.

My patient brother and myself, his legal guardian and POA, had a very problematic visit with doctor Brown today. Without having met my brother before today, my brother who was diagnosed Schizophrenic 43 years ago and who has been having his best 3 years since his last hospitalization, Dr. Brown stated that his current meds, set by his psychiatric doctor during his last hospitalization at BHC, were wrong, "too much variety and the wrong dosages." As I mentioned, my brother is doing the best in his life and I am acutely fearful of any changes made by someone who has only today met my brother, and has already informed us that he will not be available for long. I will await tomorrows blood tests and Dr. Brown's subsequent actions before further comment, but today was not a good start.
