Dr. Ricardo Velazquez, MD

My first appointment was for a general physical and to discuss a recent gallbladder attack I had in Costa Rica. After reviewing the ultrasound and my doctor's report from Costa Rica, Dr. Velazquez agreed that the gallbladder needed to be removed. Knowing that surgery would be in my near future (I was returning to Costa Rica in 30 days) he scheduled all of the necessary bloodwork, EKG, and x-rays and made the recommendation for a surgeon who was able to complete gallbladder removal surgery and get me back on my feet in time to complete my travel plans and return to Costa Rica as scheduled. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything in detail.

I would have left immediately if the doctor was not ok. It is so hard to find a good doctor these days so you actually feel trapped. The doctor here is ok, he's staff is truly the worst. So I will be taking the time to search for a new doctor, mainly due to his staff.. I gave 2 stars only because this Dr. Is ok.if I was rating his staff alone, I would give a negative star. Doctor needs to do better in his hiring front office help.

I have been canceled on twice in a span of a month and a half. I work and taking time for my doctors appointment has to be planned. Is very unprofessional that your office is playing with my time this way. And no, I do not want to hear any excuses. This has happened already twice and both times on Fridays. I want copies of ALL my records, I do not think I want to come back to receive this type of unprofessional and low patient care treatment.

What is my doctor for three years,Not anymore. He would not see me for an accident that I was in because his lawyer friend did not refer me so now I need to find a new primary care doctor to see me because he’s not getting paid. The office manager is rude. No matter how good of the day is the office staff is unpolite

Dr. Velazquez has been my Primary doctor for more than five years. I’ve never had any problems with his service. He listens intently to your situations and makes suggestion as to the best way to care for your situation. I recommend him highly.

Very good doctor send you for all necessary test goes over all test results explaining all. Very nice staff thank you.

My blood pressure was 200 so the nurse wanted him to take it. And he didn’t He did not examine what I went there for and he did not ask how I was doing on all the medication he prescribed. He walked out of my appointment and still charged me for it. I was emotional and felt like I was having a nervous break down. He said he couldn’t handle my case. Doubt that he could handle any case. Don’t real Drs take an oath? Guess he missed that day.

I had a ultrasound I asked the office manager erica, to let me know how much my cost would be becuase I been on disability for 6 month and wanted to see if I could afford it. Erica never call me to let me know. I ended up calling her she said she was busy and forgot to call me . She then said my cost is $40.00. She would let me know for sure when I come in. The day of the procedure she was not at her desk and the nurse called me back . I told her erica was suppose to verify the cost she already had givin me. She said she will go find out and left the room. She returned shortly after and said erica said yes it is $40.00. I was billed $199.00 today I had a appointment to renew my prescription. They told me that I can't see the doctor until I pay my bill. The staff is more concerened with $ then anything. Erica was listening to everything and didn't even speak up. Thank you Erica now the Medication I'm going without.becuase your screw up. The Doctor is a good man and a awesome Doctor.

I personally love him as a doctor! I’ve been seeing him for 4-5 years! Recently his office staff is continually changing and unfortunately for the worse, new office manager is rude and argumentative, I’m a very easy going patient but her attitude has caused me to get a new PCP

Ricardo Velazquez is an embarrassment of a so called "Doctor". I have been dealing with symptoms for over 3 years and no Doctor can figure out whats wrong with me. This doctor said I was immune to HSV after reading my blood test which made me laugh. If I was immune there would already be a cure for HSV, I would be patient 0. I then told him that I have had cold sores so how am I immune to HSV. He changed the subject right away. Im in my early 30's and I explained I have had pain in my legs and feet constantly everyday. I get random bumps all over my body, my eyes and muscles always twitch constantly like im having no control over muscles, and itching a constantly. Dr Velazquez told me that it was all normal and he gets those symptoms too. He then told me to come back in a year. What a joke of a Dr. I would like to see other Dr's read this post to see if what im experiencing is normal lol

He is such a excellent Dr for my first visit! I just moved to Vegas last month and was given the run around from another provider and Dr Velazquez really listened to me and addressed all of my health concerns! His staff is so great too! I was given a lot of litature that helped as well! I would recommend him to everyone! I hope his manager sees my review and let's the Doctor know how good he is, and I have a lot of medical conditions too! Thank you so much!

I love this Doctor. However, the staff is the worst I've ever seen. They never call back, and once when i ran out of medication, I went into withdrawal, because no one would do their job and ask the doctor for a refill. I'm sorry to leave this place, since i really like the doctor, but his staff is unprofessional, they have a bad attitude. Especially Mildred and Ericka his office manager. The worst.

Doesn't except money over $20 then charges an additional $2 to process credit cards. I've never had to pay a copay before do to my ins.

Where do I begin with this doctor. The staff is very unprofessional they have no idea what they are doing. Along with the ignorance of his staff he is a terrible doctor. I don't understand how he ever got that MD behind his name. He has not passion or brain for his field. The only reason I am giving him 1 star is so I can post and let everyone know how useless and dangerous him and his staff are.

TERRIBLE!!!! I WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE TO THIS FACILITY. THE DOCTOR IS DECENT, BUT FRONT OFFICE STAFF ARE HORRIBLE! FIND ANOTHER PLACE

Waited 2 hours in lobby just to be seen and was not given any kind of update as to why my 12:15 appointment didn't matter since I had to wait in the lobby for 2 hours. Would have left if I wasn't so sure that they already billed my insurance before I was even seen. Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor.

It was horrible cause he mistreated me while I was already sick. Didn't do nothing bit gave me potent dangerous meds that kept me sick. He knew I needed to see a specialist for my condition and he refused to refer me to one until I got upset and demanded to see one in the end. All he did was charged my insurance for unnecessary doctor's visits and unnecessary blood test. Now my heart is damaged from his carelessness.
