My appointment was a 11:00 am and I wasn't seen until one-ish. I asked the receptionist was he running late. She said that he's on time, but, because I was a new patient and had to fill out the paper work that was the reason for the delay. Got through the visit and scheduled a minor surgery. I fasted at midnight for this surgery and went to my scheduled appointment at 1:30 pm. After sitting in the lobby, I was sent to my room awaiting an IV in preparation for the surgery. At 3:30, I'm still not seen so I asked the nurse what's up. She states that he was getting ready to do a surgery on another patient. At that point the nurse talked to the DOC and he came to see me and asked me what was the problem. I expressed my concern, he explained something to me, but I felt it was unreasonable. I decided I was leaving and said I would reschedule, this angered the doctor and he said, "no you won't"! Here is my point-Insurance pays well, therefore, his service should match!

Paul S from Ellenwood complaints about the waiting time should be taken with reservations. He was given an appointment right away for evaluation of a severe eye condition. The doctor takes pride in seeing all patients with professionalism and care. He spends time with each patient and he cannot judge how long each patient’s visit will take. Interesting that Paul S does not complain of the amount of time the doctor took in taking care of his eye! The next day he had to be seen to verify that the treatment was progressing well and this gentleman would not understand that other patients had severe eye issues and needed the time with the doctor just in the same manner as he received the day before. He simply elected to forego the exam and leave the office at his own peril! His post should be clarified so that prospective patients would be comfortable in scheduling their own needed appointments.

Dr. Akstein and his staff are all amazing with the best bedside manner. While I was recently there for a visit I even heard him talk to the caregivers of an elderly patient that he felt was being neglected. I heard him tell the person that if this persons care did not improve by next visit he would be filing a report with appropriate authorities! Amazing!! I would recommend Dr. Akstein all day everyday! Love him and his staff.

Dr Akxtein is a very through professional. Unfortunately he broke the doctor patient bond with me due to his inability to have any respect for my time. My first appointment was at 3:15 pm. I was not seen by the Dr. until almost 6 pm. My second visit was the next day. My appointment was at 2:45 pm. A half of an hour later I asked the receptionist how many people were ahead of me. Fifteen minutes later she told me there were 5. I knew that I'd be there at least two more hours. I left.

Dr and staff treated my 88 year old mother as if she were part of a family. One month after removal of very dense cataracts, my mother, without glasses, sees better now, than I can recall. I would highly recommend Dr. Akstein's group for all future optical surgery issues.

I have been a patient of Dr. Akstein for about 1 year now. He is an excellent doctor! I was able to walk-in and schedule an appointment. Unlike other doctors who make you wait 2-3 weeks before you are able to be seen.

I have been following Dr. Akstein since 1985 when he began treating my father. He is an incredibly talented physician. He is caring, attentive, and provides the upmost quality care. I have seen other doctors over the years, but only because I was forced due to insurance. Each and every time I come running back to Dr. Akstein. There are other physicians in my area, but I drive 30 miles to see him. I trust no one more than him.

This is the worst dr you could ever go to!! They will make you schedule and appointment and yet you arrive and you have to wait 2 hours to be seen, it is ridiculous. I went their for an appointment 2 times and both of the times I had to sit for 2 hours even though they were not busy !
