Would not recommend does a procedure and cant tell
He doesn’t care about the patient you see him after a procedure when your still waking up from anesthesia he standing in front of you he’s blurry and tries to explain the procedure. All he was worried about was something i can’t explain here.Than i had follow up afterwards i asked him what did you do at my procedure. His answer was I don’t have your file with me i just don’t know! And again he wasn’t worried about me he wanted something else that i cant explain here. After my over night stay at the hospital i was still in per the nurses and my heart was out of rhythm but they sent me home anyway had to go back and have another procedure called electrical cardioversion I woke up were was the dr to even say anything to me nope were was he im sure I new were he was again but i can’t say. Plus after the procedure the nurse stated you have to stay still for 8 hours and this doctor told me i only had to stay still for 4 hours I told him what the nurse stated oh no 4 hours so what happened ther!

Dr. Cataldo is amazing and kind.
I let him know I had past med trauma and he was very understanding and asked each time he had to touch me to examine my heart. Other doctors blew off my med issues concerning heart and he immediately advised treatment. Answered all questions. Highly recommend.

Saved my life at age 32.
I had a life threatening heart arrhythmia since high school. Every Doc blew off my symptoms. Finally the paramedics caught my arrhythmia and transported me to a local Mesa, AZ ER. They had me on a drip and transported me to AZ Heart hospital in Phoenix. Dr Cataldo took over my care. He knew exactly what was going on and what procedure needed to be done. He found 8 areas in my heart misfiring and fixed them all. I have no doubt he saved my life back then on March 27, 2002. I'd not have survived without this surgery.

Lack of Informed Consent
I had a stroke last year and Dr. Cataldo jumped at the chance to throw a loop recorder in me for the small price of $31,000. No informed consent or checking that it was covered by my insurance. He did not discuss viable options such as non-invasive or less expensive holter monitors and did not disclose that peer reviewed studied have called into question why cardiologists install so many loop recorders when they are proven to not be cost effective. He stuck it in me and left me with the bill. Extremely displeased by the services rendered by him and would recommend anyone in Northern Arizona to just drive to Phoenix for treatment.

Good Luck getting help after hours or on weekends. Mountain Heart has no answering service and no on-call physicians. We were in the ER on a Sunday afternoon and the ER staff could not contact Dr. Cataldo or any of his colleagues. Most office visits are handed off to his PA.

Upbeat, confident and professional. He gave us great confidence and the complicated procedure worked. The method he developed cut my radiation exposure from 45-60 minutes to less than 5 minutes. I would highly recommend to anyone.
