Extremely kind, patient, and professional!

Amazing surgeon. He conducted a laminectomy that ended years of constant sciatica pain and I was able to walk in two hours after surgery. I am so grateful that I keep him in my prayers.

Dr. Reid Hoshide is a compassionate, intelligent and kind neurosurgeon at Queens Hospital. I was lucky enough to have him as my neurosurgeon. He was the lead on my surgery and organized an extremely strong neurosurgery team to remove a large neck tumor, stabilize my spine and fuse my neck c2-c4. His office staff was excellent and professional as well. Queens Neurosurgery Department accepted my referral as I was outside Queens system within 2 days of receipt. I was able to see Dr Hoshide within 4 business days. Dr Hoshide explains very complex conditions and surgery with grace and ease. He does not rush the appt and makes sure that all questions and concerns are addressed. He is a very skilled surgeon. I always felt safe under Dr Hoshide’s care. Queens Hospital care was excellent as well. Nurses and Hospitalist were unbelievable professional. I would highly recommend Dr Hoshide and the Neurosurgery Dept at Queens Hospital.

I was told I'd never walk again. After my car accident, 3 different spine surgeons told me that I would never walk again. I gave up, and fell into a very serious depression. I had finally saved up enough money to renovate my house to accommodate a wheelchair. My PCP told me about a new doctor in town and I figured why not. At a first impression, Dr. Hoshide looked very young and I was not comfortable with it. But then he listened to me and treated me like a person, not just another hopeless patient. He said there was "hope" and I went along with it (my life couldn't get any worse, so why not). I am now 3 months from the surgery and I am walking with a cane, and continuing to improve. No more wheelchair. Don't let Dr. Hoshide's youthful looks scare you. He's a miracle worker with a very gentle spirit and touch. He literally made me walk again.
