Dr. Reena Grewal, MD

Had my first appointment with Dr. Grewal today that felt like an interrogation instead of connecting with the patient. She started assuming things without hearing the patient's side of the story. Never offered any solutions besides kicking me back to my primary care doctor. If you are seeking mental health treatment she is definitely not the right doctor, in my opinion.

She always listens carefully to my concerns and helps me solve problems

Been seeing her for 3+ years. She doesn't understand anything about my chronic illness despite claiming she does. Doesn't listen and needed to be reminded of the same things every single appointment. Left me suffering in a 2+ week MH crisis (causing harm and additional trauma) and refused to give a reasonable explanation as to why she wouldn't prescribe a drug that could have helped (I had to obtain it from my primary care doctor). When I asked for clarification as to why she wouldn't prescribe it, she quit. Last but not least I have been on a med for 3 years that could have also helped my anxiety and chronic pain, but at no point did she mention this and I have had to figure this out on my own. She quite literally was zero help, worse than zero.

Poor listening skills, requiring telling & retelling of one’s most triggering, traumatic events, which elicits precisely one compassionate comment choked out per session; plan is dictated to patient—her way, no mutual decision-making. Without the massive referral network of Kaiser, this person would never attract or sustain a full practice. Another example of the need to check where the provider trained before making an appointment, and of course remember that last in the class still can call herself “doctor.”

Dr. Grewal was a fantastic doctor, and has dramatically improved my quality of life quickly. She spent more time than scheduled with me, and has answered my frequent questions as I started a new medication regimen. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I didn't feel she had compassion to my situation. She was unprepared before meeting with her.
