Dr. Rebecca Kim, MD

I brought my child in after being sick for more than 24 hours. The nurse was kind and relatable. Dr.Kim was the exact opposite, even with documentation from the ER referring my child to be seen by an ENT Dr.Kim minimized my childs concerns saying if she had not experienced the issues a certain number of times it doesnt need to be addressed further. I told Dr.Kim my daughter struggles with taking pills on a consistent basis as to why we didnt want a steroid pack but instead requested to have her allergy medicine refilled. I went on to explain those arent required to take on a consistent basis so I have more luck with them. Dr.Kim retorts, "its once a day" in a matter-of-fact tone. Its once a day AS NEEDED! Ultimately, everything Kim looked at she minimized as if there was nothing wrong. Less than 12 hours later, I too have the same symptoms. This happens way too often to my family as African-Americans by non-POC. Only to later get a second opinion and find there was something afterall.

I adore Dr Kim and her staff, I even recommend her to people. But there are three problems,sometimes no one answers the phone, if you leave a message you don't get a call back and it's very difficult to get an appointment with this Dr. I am not the only one with these very same complaints. Usually I end up going to the walk in Clinic. If you can get an appt with her, she's an excellent doctor. The walk in clinic has nice staff and drs but small area.,,coughs
