Dr. Rebecca Byrd, MD

I have been seeing her for many years. She has made decisions on tests, imaging, procedures, referrals to specialists, medication, etc and has always been on target. She takes time to explain treatment and makes sure you understand. Friendly and easy manner. Her staff is also very friendly and helpful (especially Vicki). I don't think I could find a better Internist.

Dr. Byrd is the only primary doctor that I consider one of the BEST DOCTORS we have in Birmingham. She listens, checks me out plus shows concern for me as her patient. She did it for my husband when he was living and now she’s seeing my daughter. We need more doctors like her.

My visit was perfect. Dr. Byrd listened and then thoroughly evaluated my symptoms. She didn’t rush through her evaluation and I felt all confidence in her diagnosis.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rebecca Byrd for many years. Dr. Byrd is a very passionate physician. She takes time to listen to her patients and give thorough examinations. Dr. Byrd was my mother's physician and currently is the physician for my husband, two sisters and other family members. Her staff is phenomenal and makes you feel comfortable during your visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Byrd and her staff.

Doctor was defensive and argumentative when trying to obtain information about my mother’s condition. She insisted there had been no change even after the nurse confirmed that Mother’s condition had changed. She alluded to the fact that since my mother is 90 she has had a good life. Trusting someone like this with overseeing the health of someone when life and death hang in the balance is terrifying for the family and dangerous for the patient. We had her removed as our hospitalist. BEWARE!!!

This doctor is disorganized with poor follow through. Her inability to organize your care makes this a dangerous doctor. She has poor physical assessment and diagnostic skills. She argues what you tell her is not true when you tell her what is wrong or changing. This is a DANGEROUS DOCTOR. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER> Take the time to find a doctor who listens and is organized.

She takes the time to listen to each patient and is able to treat them as if they are the first and foremost priority.
