Dr. Brightman is an exceptional physician and neurosurgeon. My mother had an arterial venal malformation burst in her brain and her life was gravely at risk with or without the surgery, and I'm so glad we opted for Dr. Brightman to perform the surgery. She has an excellent bedside manner and knows how to translate and communicate highly complex medical vernacular so that we understood every aspect of the surgery our mom was going to undergo. To this day, I credit Dr. Brightman's brilliance and exceptional surgical skills for not only why my mother lived, but also why she was able to regain a significant amount of cognition and ability amidst such a devastating medical event that could have ended her life. I could not be more grateful that doctors like Rebecca Brightman exist.

Dr. Brightman has performed surgery to remove a sciatic nerve fatty tumor, and two adjoining spinal fusions. I have wholeheartedly recommended Dr. Brightman at least five or six times. She also performed a neurological procedure on my wife. My wife was very pleased with the outcome of her surgery.

Blinded by the allure of Administrative job prospects, and career "Sunsetting", Brightman had no apparent concern for patient wellbeing. Multiple encounters, she spoke perhaps a total of 10-25 words. Utter failure of a specialist physician. Would recommend to an enemy.

I will be having my third back surgery soon and Dr Brightman is an excellent surgeon. She’s very nice and easy to talk to. She won’t preform a surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary. Her staff is very nice and welcoming

My Father was referred to Dr. Brightman from a pain management doctor regarding severe back pain that he had been suffering for over a year. We went to many doctors who stated "Oh I can't help you" or "Take your medications and deal with it". I thought to myself "OK" we will try one more time. Thank you again for providing him and our family kind, caring and diligent actions in my father's care. We would highly recommend her. She's a excellent surgeon. She cares about what she does.”

I think Dr Brightman is great. She did brain surgery for a brain tumor in 1994 and I also had to have a shunt put in 2006. She did both my surgeries and did a great job!! She is a wonderful Dr. I would recommend her to anyone. Thanks Dr Brightman you're the best!!

Saw Dr Brightman due to back pains she sent me for a CT scan. After going back for the CT results she said no surgery but go to pain management. Asked her for pain medication till i could get in for pain management she told me that my general doctor would have to that. Well Dr Brightman is my treating doctor for my back not my general doctor.Dr Brightman is not understanding at all. She at least in my case could care less if i am in pain.

I had a consultation with Dr. Brightman on possible brain surgery for which I obviously needed a lot of information and reassurance. I ended up waiting 1.5 hours for my appointment in a cramped hallway because she office was full of people waiting. When I finally saw her, she talked to me for probably 5 minutes, told me she could do the surgery and it wouldn't be overly risky and then walked out of the room without explaining that she wouldn't be back to answer further questions.

During my first surgery, Dr. Brightman cut my spine leaving me with a severe CSF leak. This leak ultimately became so severe that my two dorsal muscles had to be taken out, a shunt put in - and then taken out, broken screws and rods, hardware failing twice, and still never fixed. Ultimately OSU had to take out broken screws, and fix 3 holes from broken screws, and the leak. Had to have a 14hr surgery. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Brightman to anyone. She was clueless as to how to fix her mistake.
