Dr. Rani Modayil
Years ago Dr. Modayil worked with me, listened to me, did my endoscopy and colonoscopy in order to treat my condition at that time. Great bedside manner. Professional and caring.

I trust her. She is absolutely great
I almost died back in 2020 with extensive bleeding. She not only removed my polyps but also put several clips on the open veins to stop my bleeding. Five years later I have had no problem, NO BLEEDING. I have been to her couple of more times and every time she put new clips in my colons. I trust her very much and now I want my husband to do colonoscopy with her.

Terrible attitude, no bedside manner
After being left in the exam room for nearly an hour, I was then being rushed through a consultation and abruptly shown the door with as little information as possible. Neither she, nor her accompanying doctor were in agreement on most of the information regarding my condition. I felt like I was being fast tracked into a risky treatment with scare tactics rather than being engaged in a discussion about my own care and concerns (prior to full confirmation of findings). She has a terrible attitude and becomes noticeably irate, rude and condescending when you ask her questions. She’s behaves like she’s barely out of medical school and seems to be more motivated by a fragile ego than she is with patient care.

I am a WTC First Responder who was recently treated by Dr Modayil for an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. She was great, She removed precancerous polyps and is helping me extend my life. She is a kind and empathetic person. She explained all aspects of my condition to me and I have great confidence in her capabilities. She made a very uncomfortable procedure easy to endure. She has an excellent bedside manner and treats you with respect and dignity. The office staff is excellent as well as the hospital personal that supported her with the colonoscopy. I highly recommend her!

Poor bed side manner and very proud. She did not take the time to explain what was going on, or explain treatments. She wasn’t responsive to questions or concerns. She seemed to have a short fuse and contradicted what other doctors in the hospital had said. I would not recommend this doctor. We also waited for her for 7 hours!

Winthrop patient in Mineola , NY – Jul 07, 2018

Um this doctor is horrible. First of all, her manners are cold and doesn't take the time to discuss your condition or your options. Also, make sure you're ready to harass the office because these people will NOT call you with your test results. Don't understand how Winthrop hires hacks like this...
