Dr. Rottman is the top I wouldn't see anyone else
I see Dr. Rottman once a year normally. At one point I had a very strange situation going on with one of my eyes, where it was painful and red and my pupil was not reacting. Dr. Rottman took immediate action to determine the issue and treat me, the problem was resolved and it was so great to feel better so quickly. He is very smart, his staff is kind and professional. I would say he his first class, and at the very top of his field. I would never trust another doctor to protect my eyesight, which is one of our most precious gifts to have. He knows this and always gives the best advice, and answers any questions. He has an amazing memory and just is impressive and dedicated to his work of taking care of his patients I feel blessed to have him as my doctor.

Wanted to do eye surgery in office
I have a droopy eye lid. Doesn't bother me. Dr. Rottman wanted to lift the lid surgically in the office as an out patient during covid. I absolutely said no.

Very busy, over booked and impatient. No one mentioned I shouldn’t drive home after having eyes dialated. Waited an hour for some kid to rush through my exam. Doctor popped in for 1 minute.. seemed annoyed.

Great. He took me in on short notice b/c I had been dx’d with shingles. Am in 7th month of treatment for eye shingles and it is improving well. He and his staff are all very competent, friendly and caring. Highly recommend. I am a boomer and he was fine with me.

V.A. referral. Dr. Rottman and his staff are efficient and courteous. I received a good, thorough annual exam. Dr. Rottman explained things well and I felt like I was in good hands in a comfortable environment. He explained the physiology of a minor intermittent issue I was having with one eye so that I could understand likely cause and implement a solution (which is working!). His explanation of how and when symptoms manifest when you compare an intermittent vs chronic symptom helped to zero in on the solution.

He is very dismissive of older women and when he makes mistakes instead of apologizing he blames his staff. Knowing I had very limited funds, he prescribed a far larger quantity of eye drops when a smaller bottle was available, costing me a lot more than it needed to and resulting in 3/4 of a bottle to be thrown away.

Would NOT recommend! I was referred by my ENT. Dr. Rottman barely acknowledged my being there, made to feel I was taking up his time I paid for. Staff was nice but all seemed very rushed. Office was packed full, running patients through like a fast food line. Tech who quickly did my eye exam was incorrect. Went back, Dr. Rottman, corrected the right not the left. Had to have another eye exam and pay another $147 for a 2nd lens because new place only does one correction. Not a good experience!

On vacation in Moab in August (we are Italian) my wife had an eye problem. We were luckily addressed to Dr Rottman, who took care of her condition promptly and with great competence. He solved the situation and saved our holidays. Great Doctor. Thank you.

Dr Rottman is a thorough, no nonsense physician. He does not have the best bedside manner, but I would rather have a thorough, experienced physician, than the bedside manner any day of the week.
