I am currently about one month out from my cataract surgery being complete in both eyes. I could not be more pleased with the results. Dr. Epstein and I chose the distance vision lenses due to my other eye issues. I had terrible night vision which he corrected with an 90% improvement. As I stated, I did have other eye issues so this was quit an achievement by Dr. Epstein. I am so very grateful for the outcome. I do not need any glasses for distance anymore. Dr. Epstein is very focused on his work and in my opinion this is why the wait times in his office can be long. He will spend the time with you necessary to troubleshoot and solve your eye issues. I chose Dr. Epstein due to his accomplished reputation as well as its my EYES for goodness sake. Something you just don't want to toy with. If I do have any other eye issues in the future I would certainly be coming back to see Dr. Epstein. I found him to be pleasant

BUSINESSMAN NOT DOCTOR
I met with Dr. Epstein. He was arrogant and condescending. Short and and unwilling to explain things. He recommended I see a Retinologist to make sure all ok. I chose my own retinologist and not his referral. Retinologist said on scale from 1 to 10 on cataracts I am a 1!! All good on my retina and doubted I would need cataract surgery for a good long while. Dr. Epstein said for me to schedule cataract surgery if all checked out at the retinologist!!! Stay away.

Right eye cataract surgery…lense incision too big and stitched. Implant not centered. Can’t see well on that eye. Left cataract surgery had staph infection. Misdiagnosed and treated elsewhere. Blind for 3 months.

To: Doctor Epstein, you asked me to blink and you thought that I did not understand you, so you decided to talk to me in Spanish. Well it's not that I don't understand English, it's just that you were speaking soft and I couldn't hear you through the mask. Also as we were walking out of the exam room, now in a loud voice you say VAMONOS!!!!!!!!!(LET'S GO). Doctor, I think you have me mistaken for Dora the Explorer. But anyhow, what really did it for me was that every time I asked you something about the issue with my eye you did not have an answer. You said that you couldn't help me with that or that you did not know and to see my regular physician. I felt like you did not care, that you were not paying attention, like you were in a rush to get to your next patient.

Dr. Epstein in fantastic. I suffer from Keratoconus and was referred from my optometrist to go to Dr. Epstein. Dr. Epstein performed my CrossLinking procedure in 2013. My right eye was real bad. Without a contact, I was at 20/400 and wearing a contact was painful, due to my advanced out-of-shaped cornea. Back in June of this year (2020), Dr. Epstein performed my cornea transplant. I was fitted with a contact lens for my right eye with my optometrist and for the 1st time ever, I can see 20/20!! My optometrist and other other doctors who I had follows up ALL complimented on Dr. Epstein's work on the transplant and the stitches! I can't thank this man enough!

I had been looking into getting LASIK for a very long time. A family member who had LASIK with Dr. Randy Epstein suggested I go see him for a consultation. When I called to schedule the staff was very nice! I was made aware the appointment would be a long one but it was worth it! The procedure was explained to me thoroughly and all my questions were answered by the doctor & the surgical coordinator when it came down to scheduling. I'm beyond happy with my results! I highly reccomend Dr. Epstein!

Terrible heartless dr ever. Long waiting time. It took me average of 3 hours waiting every time I came, just to be seen by him for 15m. Then he does not care what your problem is, just want to get you out as quick as he can so he can start another patient (making more money but giving no treatment). This made me feel like only I need dr, and he does not need patient, all he cares is money. So i just want to give a heads-up: please think TWICE before choosing him!!!

I never write review before, but I really need to write this. He is terrible to be honest, discrimination, careless! Never ever choose him if you have another choice, if you dont, i feel so sorry for that. The reason I said that is because, whenever I let him know what happened to me, he said its normal and I will be fine. Another thing is, the medicine is too expensive so I asked to see if there is another affordable one, he said 'then dont use it'. Long story short, WORST & HORRIBLE DR EVER!

Dr. Epstein is a doctor who cares about his patient's well being. I recently had the LASIK procedure done and it was honestly life changing. Dr. Epstein explained the procedure & everything else so well and helps you understand. He was also checking up on me after the procedure. I'm beyond happy with my results. The office staff is also very friendly and helpful. They helped my family feel at home while they waited for me to finish with the surgery. I highly recommend this doctor and practice.

I had Lasik performed by Dr. Epstein approximately 19 years ago. What an absolute gift and wonderful job he did. I am now just 62 and still do not have reading classes, which they thought I would need. I am now looking at the possibility of Dr. Epstein performing Lasik for m 20 year old daughter. Cost is a consideration.

I received LASIK in Nov 2015. Dr Epstein performed the procedure and I have been thrilled with the results. The whole team is thorough. You will have to wait and it may be a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Take a book or a friend with you; you will not be disappointed with the gift of vision the Chicago Cornea Consultants can give you.

I waited for 2 1/2 hours for an appointment with my 88 year-old mother. They proceeded to take 2 people that came in after us before he saw my mother. He spent 10 minutes with her and said there was nothing he could do. He is very arrogant to think that allowing people to wait that long is ok. I don't know how anyone could possibly go back to him his practice is terrible.
