Great Service
A friend recommended me to see Dr. Rust for a knee injury. The front office showed empathy and patience to me and other patients. The nurses all had warm and pleasant personalities. They made sure I felt comfortable each time I came. Dr. Rust gave me a sense of calmness and security. He explained the issue and the options clearly and in terms I could understand. When he asked if I had any questions, I said no. He did an excellent job the first time, I had nothing else to ask. I felt I could trust him.I ended up needing surgery. It went smooth. In recovery now. So glad I went to see him and his team!

He was in and out quickly and didn’t seem to listen. I was referred to him for my hip. During the exam he didn’t acknowledge when I told him one of the specific locations on my hip that he was checking was painful. This is why I don’t think he listened. Due to his overall attitude I didn’t feel like he did not cared to help or treat the specific issue that led me to see him. I would not go to him again nor recommend him to anyone. Because of my excellent experiences with other physicians affiliated with Jewett I was very disappointed.

Not Interested in Pain Relief
Visited Dr. Rust twice for arthritis pain relief. All he was interested in was cutting and not pain relief. We have visited several Physicians at the Clinic over the years and Dr Rust has caused us to no longer use the Clinic for our health care!

I had shoulder pain and he sent me to physical therapy. After 5 weeks, I am pain free. I have been there 3 times. Average appointment was 2 hours total. Long wait times. Sign-in kiosks have problems, but the front desk people will help if asked. I have a degree in computers, so this compliant is valid.

Dr. Rust listens, is empathetic, and most of all, provides excellent care. He has replaced one of my knees, and one of my shoulders, as well as repaired torn rotator cuffs. I had a knee replacement on my other knee by a previous physician in Pittsburgh, and my experience with Dr.Rust was so much better.

I went to Dr Rust complaining of hip pain and was dismissed almost immediately because my imaging looked normal to him and therefore it must be my low back causing my pain. Thankfully, I got a second opinion from a physician who listened to my symptoms in entirety and discovered with further imaging that I had a major acetabular labral tear that required surgery. Listening to patients is one of the most important characteristics of a physician, in my opinion, and Dr Rust does not possess that quality. Would definitely not recommend.

Absolutely amazing! I have to thank Dr. Rust for giving me a new lease on life. I had a complete hip replacement in June, and was anxious about the whole procedure, given my age, I am young for a hip replacement. He was amazing throughout the whole process, explaining everything, answering all my questions ALWAYS, and never rushing me unlike other physicians who tend to do that. Great bedside manner. I knew I was in good hands through the whole process.

Dr. Rust was very easy going. He was up front and to the point which is what I want to hear from a doctor, but he is kind about how he does it. I would reccommend him to family and friends. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I was over weight but needed a hip replacement desperately. He was the only doctor that was willing to take on my case in the area, he believed I would rehab. with all my heart and lose weight if he could get me out of my wheelchair. One year later I was walking unassisted and had last 75 pounds. He saved my life.
