NOT A DOCTOR- POOR SURGICAL SKILLS
My elderly parent needed a hip replacement. He first of all is obviously ethnically biased and will treat you poorly if you’re not the right skin color. Hip replacement results were less than desirable and my parent had a severe complication. Then Ran decides to place my parent in a fraudulent guardianship and gets NYU lawyers involved. They now live a poor life stuck in a wheelchair and locked up in a nursing home against their will. Ran, you will lose your medical license and much more to come for you and NYU. BEWARE - you’ve been warned.

Do not use this Dr for a knee replacement
Here is the updated letter with your corrections included:--I am writing to share my experience with Dr. Ran Schwartzkopf of NYU Langone Hospital, who performed my total knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, the outcome has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to warn others about the potential risks.Dr. Schwartzkopf performed my knee replacement surgery on June 26, 2019. From the beginning, I experienced severe complications that were not adequately addressed. The pain and discomfort persisted well beyond the normal recovery period, and despite multiple follow-up visits, my concerns were largely dismissed. It has now been 5 years since the surgery, and I am still dealing with significant issues. My mobility is severely restricted, and the quality of my life has deteriorated as a result. I have consulted with other medical professionsals. I was told I have complex regional pain syndrome. He cut muscle which he told he would not do. He also nicked the peroneal nerve.

Total hip replacement
My son was walking with a limp after a previous complicated hip surgery done in the Caribbean. He was referred to Dr Ran schwarzkopf who did a super excellent job. He is walking normal and I am still thanking him and his staff for the excellent job they have done. I would recommend him a million times to anyone who have orthopedic questions and complications. He is the best

Total knee replacement on Oct 3 2023
I had a high risk total knee replacement which so far is improving rapidly, with no complications. The surgery took only 1 1/2 hours, which was amazing, considering my right knee done by another Dr. took 5 hours. Dr. Schwarzkopf answered all my questions and still does if needed. He’s very experienced, (performing many knee replacements on high risk patients with joint issues).

Total Knee Replacement
Dr. Schwarzkopf came highly recommended by two medical professionals. He lived up to his reputation. He is an excellent surgeon and a caring physician. He answered my many questions with thorough explanations and patience, which reduced my anxiety. He is personable, interactive, and has a sense of humor. My surgery and recovery have been better than even by the book. Highly recommend him and NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. They are very responsive and have great communication systems/platforms. The surgeon, the PA, and the wider care team answer within 24 hours, often sooner.

Amazing doctor
Many years I could not decide to do this surgery and my friend recommended dr. Ran Schwarzkopf. Friendly atmosphere and professionalism made my doctor’s visit so calm and lightened my mood. After this appointment I decided to definitely proceed with the surgery. Surgery went well, personnel was very caring and after surgery there was no infection. It is about 2 weeks after surgery and I can walk and thinking about doing my second knee. Sousanna Sc.

Dr. Schwarzkopf is an amazing surgeon. I had a total hip replacement and left the hospital the same day, was able to walk and go up and down stairs. Recovery and support from his team was great and I would recommend him and NYU Langone highly.

Having traversed the corridors and operating rooms of the NYC orthopedic community for two decades, I feel confident of my understanding of the field overall. Regarding surgeons, I have seen the very best and some versions of the worst. I have enjoyed and dreaded appointments, experiencing both compassion and disregard, anger and humor - and, of course, huge egos. To date, I have undergone: two hip replacements; two knee replacements; one knee revision; and one laminectomy. Needless to say, I have had countless x-rays, special studies with contrast, at least a dozen cortisone injections, several aspirations and one transfusion. I have been operated on by big names, rising stars and department heads at the two best orthopedic hospitals in NYC. I share this background solely for the purpose of placing my very high regard for Ran Schwarzkopf, M.D. into a verifiable context. He is a consummate professional, not near the apex his career, and yet vastly experienced in specific orthopedic con

Surgery skills were average. He treated his student terribly. Was openly prejudice towards a certain ethnicity/background. There are better surgeons in NYC that are not openly prejudice.

Dr. Ran Schwarzkopf operated on my knee, I had a total knee replacement, mid-September. He was super attentive and detail-oriented in our initial pre-operative consultation where he took his time to explain my knee arthritis and the surgery as well as what to expect after the surgery. He again reminded me of this right before i was anesthetized and operated on. His bedside manners are awesome: kind, high energy and completely disarming. This goes for his residents and clinical staff as well, his PA Roshan was amazing. Finally, he's completely accessible by cell and messaging and was quick to follow-up immediately and a few times post-op. I am now 7 months out and my knee is pain free, I feel I got my life back. I 100% recommend Dr. Schwarzkopf.

I was experiencing severe neck and knee pain for several years that caused me a great discomfort in my daily activities. Instead of pushing for surgery, Dr Schwarzkopf did a full exam with some testing and found out I have an inflammatory disorder. Since then, I take one pill a day and I got my life back. Dr Schwarzkopf is hands down the best doctor I have ever seen.
