Simply The Best!
Dr. Ty has a very busy office, but he is well worth the wait. Dr. Ty is thorough and really cares about his patients. My first visit I thought I was having heart issues and he sent me straight to the hospital. It was determined that I had multiple pulmonary embolisms in my lungs and I was admitted right away and in the hospital for a week. He literally saved my life! I trust this doctor completely. Highly recommend.

Mixed feelings and lots of "what ifs" linger
I want to be fair to Dr. Ty because I know he saved my loved one's life on at least 3 occasions but I also feel that at a critical time before my loved one's newly diagnosed heart failure got so bad that it caused fluid build-up and damage his lungs, that Dr. Ty could have been more aggressive and perhaps, just perhaps we could have still been able to do the surgery that could have saved his life. This WAS during COVID so hospitals were on lockdown so I'm not blaming Dr. Ty for anything and he is a great doctor who did his best to help my loved one's quality of life, but as a broken hearted caregiver, I have replayed the events of the last 3 years in my mind on a loop and I keep coming back to that moment. I guess one lesson is that if you feel like more can be done, don't be afraid to ask about it. Sometimes Dr. Ty's visits feel hurried. He IS a busy doctor,

Lacks empathy
I saw Dr. Ty in the hospital. He scheduled a procedure without consulting with the lab that did the test, and I ended up staying over night for no reason. Hospitalist and nurses were empathetic, he wasn't. I went to call his office for a follow up and the secretary's first question was not, "What's your name? Which hospital? How you doing?" But, "What insurance do you have?" Fortunately, I am a veteran and have access to the VA and will follow up there instead.

The wait times at his office are horrendous! Every appointment is 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours late. Don’t plan to get in any sooner than 1 hour after your appointment time. He should focus on spreading appointments out more and not seeing so many people at once.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ty for 15 years. I travel a great distance to see him because I trust him and his experience with my life. Indeed he has saved my life on two occasions in the operating room, by inserting stents and yet a third time by gentle but persistent encouragement to commit to lasting lifestyle changes that has seemed to stopped the progression of the heart disease. I have lost over 100 lbs, increased my muscle mass with sensible exercise and carefully watch my diet.
