Dr. Wentz was okay; not crazy about his assistant who seemed somewhat rude when I asked her several questions and I felt rushed by her not the doctor

First, I want to say the front office staff are professional, friendly, and helpful. They in my opinion exemplify the way the Doctor himself conducts business. It is rare to find a doctor like Dr. Wentz. He consults with you and discusses available options, helping you make informed decision. A couple of times I've had to communicate with his staff and him outside of office hours. Their response was quick, helpful, and professional. Doctor Wentz did the surgery on my toe a couple of years ago. November and December 2021 I had several bouts of gout. I credit his skills, and encouragement to work through the medication choices to reduces the sudden onset of pain. Walking without the aid of crutches and getting back to walking normal was truly a gift. Like I said, he is a rare doctor. I am so fortunate to have found Dr. Wentz and his office staff!

Outstanding care!
Staff were friendly and professional and Dr. Wentz conducted a thorough exam. He compassionately and patiently listened with appropriate curiosity. He assessed my foot related problems and developed an appropriate treatment plan. However after seeing two other providers, finally Dr. Wentz understood the underlying problem with my balance issues and made a referral to physical therapy. I ultimately found that I had numerous knee issues and needed a knee replacement. Dr. Wentz understood how important my mobility is to me and is motivated to keep me moving. He told me to attend to my knee issues first and then he will be ready to help me with my foot problems which aren’t as serious. I am so grateful to have him as part of my treatment team.

I injured my foot skiing last February. No tears- just alot of stretching, but it hurt. Two cortisone injections and some orthodic inserts and I'm right as rain! So professional and compassionate! Always on time and he explained everything so well. Sent me home with a description of picture, too. I love that! Nice nurses and staff. Thanks so much!

My thanks to Dr. Wentz and his staff for the wonderful care I received. I required surgery to fix a ligament problem in my toe. Dr. Wentz took all the necessary time to explain what my problem was, and how it would be repaired. The surgery went perfectly, and my post op recovery went smoothly. I highly recommend Dr. Wentz and his staff - very skilled and caring people.

Dr. Wentz did an open reduction internal fixation on my right ankle. I fell and broke my tibia and fibula. He saw me in the ER at 9:30 pm and arranged for me to be admitted. He is an excellent surgeon and is an extremely nice and caring physician. I highly recommend him.

I am the caretaker for my pre-diabetic, 86 year old mother. I spoke with Denise, the office manager, about how and why my mom should see a podiatrist. Denise was very helpful explaining how and why Dr. Wentz could help my mom and then she took it even a step further and explained my mom’s insurance to me, what they would cover, our out of pocket costs, etc. Thank you, Denise!

I went here 2 years ago to get a consult for Orthotic Insoles. I have really bad pain in my hips and my local GP Dr. Earhartt suggested insoles would help......well I ended up leaving the office in tears, with no treatment. The office manager was so extremely rude to me, I didn't even make it past her to see the doctor. I previously missed my first consult and was happy to pay the $70 missed appointment fee. I arrived that day with $650 in cash to pay for the missed appointment, and Insoles Consult. Well things went very differently.....the office manager ended up pulling me into her office and insinuating that I was homeless, and had no money to pay. I pulled out the wad of cash and showed it to her, and instead of letting me continue onto my appointment she lectured me about missed appointments in such a rude manner and tone I was shocked. I paid $70 and left, and ended up sobbing in my car afterwards because in Salida Dr. Wentz is the only option for this kind of care. Fire her!!!

I don't think there could be a more knowledgeable foot doctor. Bedside manner is 5 Star, skills are 5 Star, easy-to-schedule-with is 5 Star, and he always takes plenty of time with you, no matter how many questions. He is calm and reassuring, knows what he is doing. I am so thrilled he is in this area.

I would give more stars but only 5 here. Almost four years ago I fell off a huge rock with expandable leashes on my dogs. Went to Salida from Westcliffe with ankle out of joint and broken bones. I wanted an orthopedic surgeon to operate and I got Dr. Wentz. Luck was with me as he operated, I had 3 breaks on ankle. After 9 screws and a plate & various casts I stayed in Co until last cast as he was excellent. Going back to Tulsa, surgeon was impressed with his work. My ankle is perfect!!!

Recently had foot surgery and Dr. Wentz is the best. The only pain I experienced was the evening of my surgery and I have had no swelling. He put a plate in the side of my foot and a pin in my toe. The worst part is not being able to put any weight on my foot for six weeks. His staff is one of the best I have encountered in any medical office.

Dr. Wentz is wonderful, calm, patient and caring. While I don't need to see him often, it is a pleasure to see him. Orthotics are the main thing I get and I know he charges much less than front range doctors. All the medical assistants and office staff are kind and respectful. I highly recommend his clinic to anyone in our area.
