Dr. Ralph Russo III, MD

Dr. Russo is excellent in what he does. He really cares about the patient. Both me and my husband are long time patients of Dr. Russo. Dr. Russon saved my husband's life due to another specialist giving him the wrong medication. We both thank God for Dr. Russo. He and his staff are the best.

My mother was a patient. She went to Russo multiple times from the period of November 2021 to March 2022 with extreme fatigue, malaise, shortness of breath, difficulty urinating, and rapid heart rate. Russo continually switched the blood pressure medicine that she took, with no improvement in her condition. Her condition worsened. Meanwhile, despite my mom's repeated follow up with him, Russo said he really didn’t know what else to do. He failed to investigate the source of her chief complaint of extreme exhaustion with rapid heart rate. I later discovered that differential diagnosis should call for blood culture to look for endocarditis. It wasn’t until another doctor finally did a blood culture relative to her heart that an infection was found. This routine blood test finally prescribed by his colleague, confirmed Endocarditis (heart infection). Her heart valve was completed infested with bacteria by the time the blood culture was prescribed, which was five months after her reported symptoms to Russo. Devastatingly, by the time the belated blood test revealed the Endocarditis, her heart valve was too destroyed by the infection and she was terminal and passed away.

Consistently, I have received professional and efficient care each visit to Virtua. From making the appointment, to arriving at the reception desk and receiving the prep work prior to seeing Dr. Russo all have been a good experience. Friendly, caring and genuine are adjectives that I would use to describe my visits. Dr. Russo is compassionate, checks all the information with me and notes any changes,then does the followup with any labs required and/or other testing. He listens to my feedback and acts appropriately.

Everyone at the check-in is great I got in they take the information and I was seen by the I guess it's a nurse almost immediately and of course Dr Russo fantastic. Can't say anything bad he's a fantastic guy and I enjoyed going to my visits well, I do about joy, but I don't mind going to my visits it is good and that's about all I have to say everyone is so efficient.
