Dr. Manam saved my life!
Lifetime of IBS. Early 20’s, complained of fatigue. Dr’s told me I was working too much. Mid-20’s, noticed bleeding. Was told hem. ran in fam. Had urgent trip to clinics, Good Sam in ‘06 (thought meningitis) & 10/07 blockage (told gastroenteritis). I was sickly & ignored by Dr’s for 10 yrs! Dr. Reinertson ‘06 said colonoscopy to rule out IBS or Crohn’s, but didn’t have Cro. sympt. Due to $600+ colonoscopy, put it off. Vomited bile repeatedly thru out 3rd preg. Dr. Major’s (OB) couldn’t understand why Metamucil didn’t help. It made me worse. My kids were 5, 3, & 6 mos. when dx w/ 3c cc by Dr. Manam. He listened to me when I said I can’t live like this anymore. It really was my breaking point. Dr. Rose-Veatch is my onc. She also saved my life. I encourage anyone w/ IBS & bleeding to get a colonoscopy. The final 4 yrs, I had severe razor wire like churning pain across entire pelvis. The 6-7mm tumor was in Sigmoid colon. Dr. Anthony Kim also saved my life. I was 34 & now I’m 50. God Bless!

Misdiagnosis
Having met via video for an appointment, my symptoms and experiences were shared. These same symptoms and experiences were shared with two previous individuals, the referring PA and the intake nurse. In all three instances, I clearly stated that I was not having problems swallowing. Rather, it appeared to be achalasia. Despite stating those facts, this physician diagnosed a swallowing problem, dysphasia. When things have not been swallowed, it has been because the opening to my stomach has closed, thus backing up liquids and/or solids. Swallowing has not been the problem; passage into my stomach has. Consequent to this stated misdiagnosis, for which I received several pages describing a problem that I do not have, my faith in this physician is lost. Thus, I do not trust that a procedure should happen or that it will be done ably. That is unfortunate, as I will have difficulty acquiring another appointment with a different doctor and challenges addressing this periodic ailment.

The Dr. and his staff at the Sunrise clinic are amazing. Dr. Manam is gentle and kind and explains things in a way I can understand. I have had 2 upper endoscopes - one 3 years ago and one this week. Because they both required biopsies, I was completely knocked out. The 2 people who stood out both times are Dr. Manam and his anesthesiologist Fiona. They bother are great and truly care about the patient. Highly recommend!

Just had a colonoscopy today, 3/2/20 by Dr Manam. The method used fo prep the day before was unbelievably easy. I ordered the prep kit recommended, but I bought my own Orange Jello and 2 quarts of Gatorade - Frost and Lime/Cucumber, and Beef and Chicken Broth...Their kit comes with lemon jello, two packets of lemon lime Gatorade powder mix, two packets of chicken broth, and 4 tush wipes along with the 8.3 ounce bottle of powdered laxative. ...The laxative tastes like whatever you mix it with, no more of that old nasty stuff, and you only have to drink a total of a half gallon, not a whole one ! I can't say enough nice things about Dr Manam and the Staff, everyone was absolutely fantastic. If you need to have a colonoscopy, this is the place to go, hands down !

Dr Manam is wonderful. The issue I'm seeing him for is very frustrating and challenging. He took the time to listen carefully, and come up with a game plan. He explained next steps thoroughly. I feel very confident in his ability to help me manage the condition. All the staff I encountered from the scheduler to front desk, to the awesome nurse, are to be commended on their patient customer service skills. Highly recommend.

What I like best about Dr, Manam and his staff is how at ease they make you feel. Though they are very professional, they are not stuffy. They all have wonderful smiles and are very courteous. Dr, Manam takes the extra time to listen and explain no matter how simple the matter might be. They always makes sure I understand fully the treatment or whatever before I leave the office. Which is always clean and comfortable.

I had uncontrollable diarrhea for 71/2 weeks. I insisted I had a parasite or enteric pathogen, but all the tests my GP ran came back negative. I react badly to antibiotics, so they could not just treat me without a diagnosis. Dr Manam listened carefully, agreed with me, and did different types of tests. He even called me on a weekend to give me the diagnosis of the pathogen! He put me on prednisone to minimize reactions, and then 4 days of antibiotics, and I was cured! I'm so grateful to him!
