Overall, Dr. Shah is a great doctor. He pays attention, provides an appropriate treatment plan, and has great insights on improving overall health - more-so than other doctors. However, over the past 18 months, the ability to see Dr. Shah, as well as the management of his schedule with patients has dramatically declined. I have had three instances in the past 3 months where he would not see me for at least 2 months for a known illness, could not get an annual physical scheduled or 6 months before noon, and would not see me at all when I was physically in office for an appointment where there had been an issue on the scheduling system and wanted to push it back another 6 weeks. If you have all the time int he world and are patient, he would be a great provider. If you have a busy life-style with many demands in life, I'd recommend finding someone who can have availability, empathy, and management support to understand the lives of his/her patients.

My physical consisted almost entirely of Dr. Shah typing on a computer across the room while I answered questions. The exam lasted about 2 minutes and he then referred me for my prostate exam, something that had been done during the physical. I called to follow up on a concern raised in my physical. Only able to get through to an office assistant after a couple of tries and was told that Dr. Shah's advice to reduce my symptoms was to stop drinking alcohol. This was unfortunate since I don't drink alcohol, which I had mentioned during my physical. He did call to apologize but in the process threw the messenger (and technology and changes in the organization) under the bus. Very disappointed.

Dr. Shah has been my primary care physician for awhile now and while I thankfully have to see him often due to overall good health, when I do have the occasional need for a visit or physical he is always so thorough and professional and I feel a true sense of caring and thoughtfulness in his approach. Even his nursing staff is top notch.

Just moved to Chicago and needed to find a good internist. His practice was recommended to me by a trusted colleague. My husband, daughter and I have all seen him and he is very nice, quite thorough, and takes time to listen to his patients. So far, so good!

I never feel rushed on my visits. He's very thorough and takes the time to explain and educate the patient. He has a great bedside manner and is very sincere. Highly recommend him as a primary; sincerity, knowledgeable and gives thorough care while taking the time to talk to the patient.
