Dr. Raja Taunk, MD

Unfortunately, I have a lot of complex medical issues and have seen my fair share of specialists from NIH, University of Maryland, Hopkins, and Anne Arundel! Dr. Taunk was the first GI I have encountered that sat back and REALLY listened! He used simple, easy to understand language and was very considerate with his responses. Dr. Taunk made sure I understood and was comfortable with the plan. It felt like we were a team with the same goal in mind! He is a breath of fresh air!

My most recent visit was a tele visit with Dr. Taunk. My reason for calling was a concern about communication. My greatest concern was that my primary care doctor never received my biopsy results from 2017. And I was not personally made aware of polyps or biopsy, at all, by this office. When I spoke to Dr Taunk about not knowing about polyps nor biopsy and never receiving biopsy results, he said he didnt know why there are "no communication issues 99% of the time" with his office and he repeated several times that he couldn't explain my "lack of remembering". Dr. Taunk was very dismissive rather than trying to understand what may have happened. He argued with me about my reason for calling and became very condescending. He accepted zero responsibility and ended the call after the statement "I am not going to waste my time anymore". Because of my conversation with Dr. Taunk, I received a letter that all "the physicians of AAGA" will no longer serve me.

I can't see or talk to anyone for weeks. I'm in pain. They tell me to go to the emergency room. So I go. They do tests. The tell me to talk to my GI specialist. I call. I'm told I can't speak to the doctor for a month and I can't even speak to a nurse practitioner for 2 weeks. The are leaving me to suffer with no help. CRAZY !!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Taunk's for over 5 years. We found him after a hospital stay and a diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis after my previous GI ignored my symptoms and complaints. He has helped me work through my complications with the disease and the medications at every turn. He's very good at explaining things in a way that makes sense to a "normal" person, but is also not afraid to tell it like it is and tell you when you're adversely impacting your own health. He genuinely cares and expresses it. He also keeps your personal health goals in mind while working out a treatment plan, and I can not explain how important that is in a provider. The practice is amazing with communication and scheduling, and having the endo in-house makes it convenient. I just had my sixth colonoscopy with them and although COVID changed some aspects, I never felt abandoned. They have an infusion bay in-house, too, and it makes treatment scheduling easier - PLUS the infusion nurse is AMAZING

Dr Taunk may be a competent surgeon, but he has a total lack of bedside manners, if you desire a pompous, impatient doctor, who chooses to prioritize making money over patient education and best interests - have at it!

He is the best doctor he is helping me with my crohn's disease i love him ??

Dr. Taunk is the 3rd doctor I've used in this practice (the other two retired over time) and is my favorite by far. He listens and appears to genuinely care. We're still working on solutions and he takes into account my feelings and needs when discussing options. The telemed appointments are great - I don't feel I miss anything by not driving into an office. He's at the top of my list in terms of friendliness, attentiveness to my needs, knowledge. It would be great if all my doctors were like him.

I have had (2) appointments with Dr. Taunk and a colonoscopy/ endoscopy procedure. He and his staff are very professional and caring as well. Thorough tests were ordered to get to the root of the problem and he follows up with a thought out plan. Very happy with Dr. Taunk and the practice.

Just completed my second tel-med visit with Dr. Taunk; a follow up to an endoscopy. The results were great and I could not be happier with Dr.Taunk. My previous physician did not demonstrate the care and concern that Dr. Taunk has provided (possibly misdiagnosed by previous dr) I am so glad my primary care physician recommended Dr. Taunk, he is the best! Patient, kind, personable and professional!

Dr. Taunk is an excellent doctor with a terrific bedside manner. He's confident in his approach and diagnosis. Everything he's told me has worked to perfection. I'll recommend him to anyone and every one who inquires about the need for a GI doctor.

Dr. Taunk put my mind at ease immediately about a plan of treatment for my heartburn and chest pains. Highly recommend.

It was a pleasure having my first telehealth visit with Dr. Taunk. He answered all my questions and concerns and was very patient and encouraging. I was at ease and had time to express my concerns. We discussed future treatments and I was given a link to see how I can deal with my GERD. Thank you, Dr. Taunk.

Dr. Taunk is an amazing Doctor. I've have some pretty serious health issues an he is a doctor that I really trust. I'm a teacher and it is hard for me to take off at the end of the school year and Dr. Taunk was willing to sqeeze me in on a day when he was having proceedures from some pretty significant pain i was having. Would highly recommend him to anyone I know.

He is knowledgeable and personable. Explains treatment options and findings in a way that is clear and consistent while still being technical. Professional and caring, I would not see any one else for gastrointestinal issues
