Pannella spent most of his time telling me why I should vote for his wife for the school board than addressing my issues about my previous skin cancer diagnosis. DO NOT recommend.

Never again
I saw Dr. Pennella for a very minor skin problem. I was subjected to his opinion on every hot button school-related social topic out there. He was arrogant, abrasive and we completely lost the reason why I was there as things got deeper in the mud. I tried to shut the conversation down four times before he finally just left the room- no follow up instructions, and I did not get to ask my second skin-related question. Let me just say if you are trans-gender, or love someone who is, this is not the doctor for you. If you recogize diveristy as something to be acknowledged and celebrated, this is not the doctor for you. If you like to focus only on the reason for your medical visit, this is not the doctor for you.

I requested a fungal culture to diagnose my atypical inflammatory tinea capitis infection but it was refused. PA York misdiagnosed me with alopecia areata and prescribed a strong topical steroid. It caused a painful flare up resulting in additional hair loss. At that point I had to call several times to get a response from Dr Pennella’s office, who finally offered to see me in 6 weeks. When I asked for immediate help and provided photos showing the flare, they pushed me off with a referral to St Louis with a wait of appx 4 mos. This office refused further care and had a real negative impact on my health. I wasted 4 months and appx $500 to be intimidated verbally as well as in writing here. After searching further I found a derm in Joplin to see me within 2 weeks who did the culture, started treatment and got me on the right track on the first appointment.

Would not recommend to anyone. Saw him for over a year for a chronic condition. He never initiated an appointment, he never learned my name, he didn't even set his clipboard down most of the time, just looked like he was too busy to deal with me. Offered an aggressive plan and then never followed up. When it didn't work, he was rude and condescending. I had an outbreak when I was out of town and called the "on call" number in a panic, trying to get a quick Rx to tide me over. He happened to be the doctor on call that night which should have been a good thing. Instead, he literally yelled at me and told me he was trying to get his kids to bed. Unbelievably unprofessional. Found a new doc in Branson and have been extremely happy with the switch.

Dr has taken off cancer areas on my body. I trust him, his personality is good, he came highly recommended to me. He is very thorough and observant!

I saw Dr. Pennella today for the first time just for a skin check because I have and grow a lot of moles, and there were a couple that I was concerned about. He wasn't in the room very long, but did a pretty thorough check, listened to my concerns, and reassured me that the ones I had problems with were ok. I got an all clear! He and the staff were all very friendly and made it a comfortable experience.
