The first time I saw Dr. Olivares he told me in so many words that he did not have time for me. He let me know that he is only in the office 2.5 days per week, that he can at most address 2 issues per visit, and that if I call in he does not have time to check my chart, so if I need him to look at my chart, make an appointment. He did not look at my bloodwork that I had faxed over for him until I informed him that it showed that I was diabetic for the first time. I will be looking for another doctor who will take time to listen to me and be attentive to my care.

Dr. Rafael Olivares prescribed to mom an inhaler that in the past she'd had adverse reactions to. He knew about her problems with the inhaler. He also knew that mom has over 250 food/medication/environmental allergies. The kind that requires an EpiPen, because of anaphylaxis. He didn't care. She had the prescription filled at a local pharmacy. The pharmacist said to mom, “Are you sure you want this filled? You've had problems with this before.” Mom said, “Yes, I want it filled as evidence.” She filed a complaint with her insurance about what Dr. Olivares did. She changed doctors to Dr. Kellan Miller. She told him about the problems with the inhaler. He just shrugged it off. It took 6 months for her to get the entire mess straightened out. She needed that inhaler at least every other day, but was without it for 6 MONTHS! She changed doctors after the problems with Dr. Miller. That doctor got the mess cleared up IMMEDIATELY, even calling her insurance company to talk to them personally. That's when we found out that Dr. Kellan Miller is Dr. Rafael Olivares' boss! No wonder Dr. Miller didn't have a problems with what Dr. Rafael Olivares did! Wouldn't recommend either of these doctors, especially in an emergency situation. Left this review on Dr. Rafael Olivares websites and Dr. Kellan Miller's.

Dr. Olivares was half an hour late to my appointment, and when he arrived, took several minutes to figure out how to get the microphone and camera to work. I explained that I just needed a prescription I had already talked to my PCP about (she was on leave), but for some reason she didn't put on my chart, so I wasn't able to get my medication when I needed it. Dr. Olivares asked me what my previous prescription had been, and when I told him, he lectured me about how the dosage was overkill (I've been taking this medication for 15 years). Instead of just writing a prescription, he proceeded to ask me about random things in my medical records and draw the appointment out. His general demeanor was impatient and cold, and I did not feel comfortable in his care.. Later, I learned he billed my insurance $300 for a 40 minute, and I was on the hook for $160 of it. I am currently disputing the charge, and will avoid having to work with Dr. Olivares in the future.

I had the same experience as the last review. I'm a healthy 28 year old man, just came in to establish a PCP since I recently moved to Denver. Confirmed with my insurance beforehand that this would be covered as a wellness visit. A couple weeks later I received a bill for $250. After a few hours of frustrating phone calls getting bounced around, I finally found out that he submitted the coding in a way that it would be billed as an office visit - the diagnostic code being a previously diagnosed (and already treated!!) condition. It was odd that he didn't ask a single follow up question about a TUMOR I had. But to then bill me based on this? This doesn't seem right. Definitely won't be returning to this office.

Extremely disappointed with the care received at Dr. Olivares office. My husband went here to establish Dr. O as his PCP. So this should have been a preventative office visit. I confirmed this with our insurance, again when I scheduled the appointment and my husband also confirmed this when he checked in. I used to work in medical billing so I'm very familiar with the coding used and appointment types. The office then billed this visit with a problem-oriented CPT code and we were responsible for almost $300. To make matters worse, Allison, the office manager never called me back. I left 3 voice mails all of which went unanswered and that's ultimately why we are now writing the review. My husband was hoping to establish Dr. Olivares as his PCP for the rest of his life theoretically. But instead, we were blind-sighted with a huge bill and no one in the office willing to call us back. See another Dr. that won't scam you.

My whole family goes to see Dr. Olivares. He has been my doctor for years. He is incredibly compassionate and always takes time to listen to my concerns. He explains things in terms that are easy for me to understand. He is bi-lingual. He speaks Spanish to some of my family members and English to others. He is very personable and has checked in on my family on weekends. I give Dr. Olivares my highest recommendation.

This was my first and final visit with Dr. Olivares. I had an incident that put me in the hospital over the weekend and was told to follow up with my doctor. The office I usually go to got me in with him. He barged in to the exam room while the nurse was still doing the vitals and didn't even introduce himself. He started taking notes and talking at me through his voice to text microphone. Never asked me any question or even talked to me really. I left very insulted. Horrible doctor.

After years of seeing Dr. Olivares he seems to be losing his passion. I went in for a yearly physical and he just spun me around to look at my skin. He asked about the FOB fecal test...and never gave the kit to me. I didn't receive a referral for a mammogram. I was so frustrated with his lack of caring. He couldn't get out of the room fast enough. He didn't even know I was there for a physical for Pete's sake. Lame!
